Should you really be on wowhead at work?
Well, when I don't have work to do, we sit in a lounge, in front of a big screen TV. They provide wi fi for us, so we can sit on our laptops and surf the web all we want. I can even fall asleep if I want. I don't make money, though. If I do have work, I'm out on the golf course and not even close to the lounge, so it is a non issue.
I haven't had work in 2 days now. My last golfer was moody, and lame. He golfed for half of what he had scheduled, and tipped me horribly. Since I work for tips, and don't get a paycheck at all, it can get tight.
Were you asking out of curiosity of my work situation, or were you just wishing I would go away?

heh, mytie, I have a similar situation on my job. Most of the time I'm expected to sit in a really small cubicle from 7 to 5 without doing anything. When I have some numbers to crunch or informs to redact, I'm given a metric ton of paperwork to do, but otherwise, I'm just sitting in a tiny desk waiting for the clock to let me out of that prison.
Its why I hate that job, and why for the past 3 months I've been taking every saturday a course of Advanced Gourmet Cuisine in order to one day quit my job, and realize my dream of working as a Chef.
Cooking is my real passion, not sitting in a cubicle like a lab rat.

That sucks rank. At least I have a nice caddy shack to sit in. Big screen TV, with dish tv, wi fi, a calfeteria, comfortable lounge chairs, etc. It's not all that bad here. I couldn't imagine your situation. That sounds like prison.

I spent two hours laminating and cutting things the other day. LIFE IS HARD. But then I also get to do some of the marketing things and stuff, so it's not toooooooo bad. Some boring jobs, some fun ones.

Well done, Patty! Look at the positive.

Yeah. Irony smacking me in the face, out of one prison, and straight into another one.
That bank is really depressing, you'd find more cheer in a funeral home, not to mention the stiff work environment, horrible boss, and the fact that my one attempt to bring some style to my little work space was promptly shut down by the powers-that-be. (Tried to put
this poster
of Johnny Cash on my cubicle, had to take it down the next day because apparently it "doesn't imprint the image of professionalism expected on the job" =/)
I used to have the BEST JOB EVER, I was a simple security guard...........................
AT A COOKIE FACTORY
Ohhh it was a magical place, if you've never worked at a cookie factory before, lemme tell ya that place was paradise.
Not only the whole place smelled like fresh-baked cookies the whole day, the work environment was always in a good mood, cheerful, the boss was a saint, and the pay was decent enough. The best perk was the discarded cookies.
All the cookies that didn't passed quality control due to being cracked, deformed, bended, or otherwise not presentable, were gathered at the end of the week, put in bags of 3 kilos, and sold to the employees at a ridiculously low price. I'm talking about 3000 bolivares (about 2 dollars back in those days) for 3 kilos of cookies of all the flavors imaginable.
I gained 9 kilos working there AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT >_>
But dreams have the nasty habit of ending when you're not paying attention. Before you know it, chavez won the elections, and after a while, factory was expropriated by the government, all the workforce was laid off, place was demolished, and in its place they built a socialist college =/
So yeah, now I work at a crappy bank, in a tiny cubicle, on what has to be the most BORING JOB EVER!.
/end-of-rant.

Sorry to say any job that pays money is better then no job.
Mine doesn't pay. :P Well, technically it does. I get money from social security because it's voluntary.
Also, even any type of voluntary work is better
than
no job. #Grammar Nazi

while this is true, it doesn't make it any less depressing. I can't stress enough into words how much I loathe my job, and its why I'm slowly pursuing my dream of becoming a Grand Chef.
Its gonna take a while, every saturday from 7 to 10 I take a course of advanced gourmet cuisine, and I'll be finishing it in about 3 years. Once that's done, I'll do my best to try and find a job as a chef in a restaurant so I can FINALLY leave that bank forever.
That bank is CRUSHING MAH SOUL. Its run by greedy Real-Life Goblins, except without the comedic slapstick.

As far as I know you first have to have a job and then be fired to get unemployment.
Unemployment is just being "out of work".
