It feels weird using contractions. I have been doing too many formal writing for school.
It's, don't, they're, doesn't, we're, aren't, hadn't haven't, shouldn't, wasn't, won't, mightn't, might've, mustn't, I'd, I'll, you'll, who'd, what'll, how's.
That's about all I can think of in a single sitting.:p
^
See? I'm starting to use them again!:O
I like my super contractions:
He'sn't, you'ren't, they'ren't, we'ren't, we'ven't, you'ven't, etc.

I haven't seen you use those...:p
'Cause I haven't written any dialogue here as far as I know.

I'll tell you the tale of Scottish lad,
Who dreamt of adventure grand,
Whom fate had chosen to follow the path
Of all the 'fore-born heroes of Scotland;
For this young man with destiny foretold,
His might, his nobility and charm,
Would, from shadowy depths, the Loch Ness fiend
Slay with the might of his arm:
To fight and triumph with living breath,
Or yea even yet be hero in death.
So off he set towards the cloudy dawn
Of Saint Andrew's holy morn,
Confident in faith, secure in mind,
That for the quest he was born.
He trekked by night and traveled by day
And continued a threeday thus,
Until he arrived upon the long-sought shore,
And blew fate a hearty buss:
To fight and triumph with living breath,
Or yea even yet be hero in death.
'Avast!' he roared, 'Come face me beast!
Come face your greatest foe.'
And not a moment passed and 'fore him it stood,
The fiend he to slay, come weal or woe.
And fight they did, for a day and a night,
And all of Scotland shook,
The felt it on Merrick, they felt it in Glasgow,
From north to south in every cranny and nook:
FOR HE
was to fight and triumph with living breath,
Or yea even yet be their hero in death.
Some say he vanquished the monster that night,
It's corpse on the rocky bottom a-set,
Others that they sank clutching each other and death,
To the depths that even gods forget.
But let not that trouble your hearts good Scots,
For it is for me this day to proclaim
That our hero did in fact cast down the beast,
Our hero -- Eluneril -- a hero's name:
For he fought and triumphed with living breath,
And is living hero yet, for he defied death.

Ahh, how do I make it so the link in my signature shows Hyper's poem? The link I have now just directs me to this page, not specifically the poem :(
Click the time-stamp next to my name (on the post with the poem obv).
