I think what he means is,
star wars = space fantasy
star trek = Sci fi, as in a space fiction based on science, not fantasy

y is filtered) sidekick(s) against a dark wizard and an evil empire and his struggles against it is just a classic and even though I've seen/read that kind of story for the nth time, it still seems interesting to me.

number 1 liked the new movie, it felt like enterprise but more campy like the original.
number 2 enterprise, the voyager then tos then ds9 then tng, absolutely didnt like tng
number 3 i liked the brit guy whose name i cannot remember for some reason on enterprise, if you just limit it to the new movie then scotty
number 4 kirk, but capt archer > all others
