: You won't be using Gouge much in PVE unless you're still leveling, but even then Gouge is no longer necessary. It's simply not part of a rotation; in fact, it stops a rotation.
In general, Mutilate builds start off with something like this: Garrote -> SnD -> Mutilate to 5 points -> Envenom -> Mutilate to 5 points -> Rupture & alternately Envenom/Rupture.

: It's probably better to spend points in talents other than Imp. Slice and Dice when leveling, but if you use it and like it that's fine. Only other thing is that you will probably find more swords than maces when leveling and the extra attack is a lot more helpful than the minuscule armor ignore right now. For your level 80 talent build, I recommend something like this instead ->

This is the Assassination spec that has been given the most praise on the EJ Forums as the top performing DPS Spec. The rotation does vary with this setup, and it is recommended as with any Raiding Build that you consult a spreadsheet for proper rotations. Vulajin's Roguecraft Sheet can be found here. The general rule of thumb has been stated from a few different sources, and I want to link it here, as I believe its a much easier way of describing how "by the seat of your pants" DPS goes:
Keep Hunger for Blood and Slice and Dice up 100% of the time.
Maximize your Rupture uptime.
Do as many 4+ combo point Envenoms (NEVER EVISCERATE) without breaking the first two rules.

Just messing around with the talent calculator. I don't play a high level Rogue so i'm pretty clueless on rotations and gearing, but i'd thought i'd share this spec with you all anyway.

The general focus is a combat build that relies on spamming Backstab to build points and then using Eviscerate to use the points up. I think it may have issues building up the points, but i think the standard damage will be quite high, using a Slow MH Dagger and fast OH Dagger/Fist weapon.

This is a variation of a build someone posted on EJ. It is a raiding HAT build and i like it. The premise is dropping

, offsets the loss of the 15% damage buff to my Eviscerates. Every talent that has the potential to add combo points has been maxed in order to make the flow more steady. I pay attention to group composition and will now ask to be switched into groups with classes that have higher faster crit.

Let's see. You're gimping your most-damaging ability to improve poisons which make up around 10% of your total damage, improved expose armor, which is unusable with a warrior tank in the raid, and (this one got to me) ruthlessness? In a build already overflowing with combo points? Are you even serious?
