Happy to help. I've often suggested to other rogues that they keep up-to-date with Vulajin's 101 thread, though I got the feeling a lot of people on Wowhead might find it too focused for their needs, which is in part the reason why I made this thread.
By all means, if you want to further your knowledge then hang around on EJ. It's the best place to go to learn pretty much everything and anything about the game, and its various resources represent a large portion of the links I plan to include in part VIII of this compendium.

Combat fists utilises sinister strike as its primary attack whereas combat daggers utilises backstab. Backstab comes out slightly less efficient than sinister strike when the common cycles of the two skills' associated builds builds are converted to both DPE (damage per energy) and DPS.

Daggers are faster and therefore have a much lower damage range, as such sinister strike will not hit near as hard with a dagger.

I do think that you could do better with what you've got by changing a few of your gems out. I suggest:
- One relentless earthstorm diamond for your mask.
- Three rigid dawnstones for your tunic.
- One rigid dawnstone for your bracers.
- Another rigid dawnstone for your gloves' red socket.
- Two bright living rubies (or delicate living rubies if you raid with a paladin who gives you kings) for your legguards' red sockets.
- One balanced nightseye (or shifting nightseye if you raid with a paladin who gives you kings) for your legguards' blue socket.
Doing all of the above should grant you increased DPS (the RED's requirements will be met, no need to worry). I also suggest picking up one more piece of wastewalker and a MH sword from the arena as both will provide significant boosts to your DPS.

Very good resource. Please, Remx, carry on and finish it. I would vote for making it sticky.

PVP and PVE sections will most likely be added tommorow.

would it be possible to include the "best" enchants for the various specs? IE which ones would benefit more from AP or agility etc.. just a suggestion, the compendium is friggin sweet already :)

Good idea HigginZ, I'll see if I can fit it into the itemisation section. If not I'll split it between the PVE/PVP sections.

You know, something that might be useful would be a section on tactics; what abilities are good in what scenarios, combinations that people like and find effective in raids, things that people have found to be effective for soloing, stuff of that sort.
Another thing that could be really fun, and I've seen randoms threads on it before, but all of the fun things that you can do as a rogue such as stealth runs and the like.

That's what I intend for the PVE and PVP sections.

Ah excellent.
Also, I wonder if there was a way that you could take ideas from other people and edit/add them in to the compendium. There are some great threads in this forum and some cool tips that I've acquired from some people's posts.
Of course, you have a bit of work cut out for you still, so one step at a time. Maybe a thread of tips could be started after your *mostly* done to be added in if they are good... or perhaps just a seperate stickied thread.

If you want to post some tips you feel could be useful I'd be happy to consider adding them in.

Awesome, let me hunt through a couple of posts so I can quote and give credit where it is due.
Cheers

This is one of the threads that I thought was extremely insightful. Lots of good input in this thread that would be useful for up and comings with respect to tactics for sapping, distracting, pickpocketing, and lockpicking... all the goodies that are rogue-only that everyone has to learn.
edit to add: especially the LandSavage comment.
