gnomes
Escape Artist - instant - 1.75 min cooldown
Escape the effects of any immobilization or movement speed reduction effect.
Expansive Mind - passive
Intellect increased by 5%.
need to say more?
Yes, you need to say a lot more. Pre 3.0 gnomes > humans. Post 3.0 humans > gnomes. Which peeves me since now I'm stuck with an evil midget who has issues with steps
gnomes:
Escape Artist
humans
:
Every Man for Himself
Humans by a slight margin here: a counter to stuns/fears/cyclones is a tad better in PvP traps/entangling roots/nets/frost nova
gnomes
:
Expansive Mind
humans:
The Human Spirit
About even, extra crit vs extra SP. Slight edge to gnomes because the extra int is usefull from level 1 on while the spirit is not noticeable until you get life tap. Spirit is no longer useless, for example:
Fel Armor
and
Life tap
scale with spirit
gnomes:
Arcane Resistance
humans:
Perception
For PvP, humans takes this, for PvE gnomes take it
gnomes:
Engineering Specialization
humans
:
Diplomacy
Human win here the faster rep > +15 engineering

thank you Blightman :) the thing that +5% intelect is great but Diplomacy is also great and usefull too. perception and arcane resistances - I think they not so usefull. but Escape Artist and Every Man for Himself is the same, I think :) I have question to you ! Do you play with warlock and which race ? It's really hard to choose but also I like Humans as they look :D but gnomes are very small :D
I have gnome lock and an orc lock, both demo.
If you PvP a lot you will appreciate perception a lot.
As far as aesthetics: go humans>gnomes

Human. Every Man For Himself allows a freed up trinket slot.

Right conclusion but some of your logic is based on incorrect information:
the int bonus for gnomes? worthless cuase yet again- life tap.
Int also increases you crit chance, so not worthless
they also have the ability to see invis for a bit
It's an improved level of STEALTH detection and its passive now.
whats the difference of a 375 eng gnome and a 375 eng human?
The extra engineering will let gnomes exceed 390before the patch.

I am wishing that I rolled a human for my mage now too. I would def take a human over almost any other class post patch. I originally picked Draenei due to their heroic presence, but as frost, it now only saves me one talent point and that;s the best they can do.
