I now play female characters, after leveling a male night elf up to 70...
Man do i regret that. I just cannot stand the animation male night elves have, weather its holding an axe upside down, a bow on its side, etc. i just prefered the female animations.
I mean, I've found generally people are NICER when i have a female char than male, cause they actually treat me with respect, which is nice.

Actually other players' reactions aren't the best part. That was when I went to buy the EU version of the game (played US before) and the clerk in the store immediately asked if it was a gift for someone. He used that tone where people expect you to say yes and only ask for formality. When I said no there were a few seconds of silence and then a hesitative "You mean it's for
yourself
?" I had a really hard time keeping a straight face while handing over my money.
That's a bit rude, if it were me I would have given that guy
a punch to the groin
a nasty glare. <_<

im pretty sure everybody agrees that there is nothing wrong in rolling opposite sex on WoW, its just plain wrong when it gets out of hand or when people cross over the boundry like for example... acting like the opposite sex... thats just weird (sorry thats the only weird enough example i can think of at the moment, lol). there is one thing i detest or that annoys me the most is when a they find out one of the players is actually a female -_-'.... all hell breaks loose, our GM is a female and everybody just sucks up to her or baby her. i know its in a gamers nature to be naturaly attracted to girls who play video games *shrugs* (well the majority of them, i myself are one of them just not an extremist lol). thats how i actually met one of my Ex. lol playing a halo game at my friends party, i ended up killing her so many times but in the end i just let her kill me just once though she hated me for that then hate turn to love, WOOT ;]

i have mostly female characters. have two males characters though. on my male characters, i can barely get anyone to stop and help if i accidently pull one too many if i am trying to solo. on my female characters, anyone playing a male character normally stops and helps, even if i do not want their help. my female priest is in all epics and i got level 61s helping me and telling me that i should not have to worry about fighting. i do get annoyed by that and leave the area. btw: did i mention i am a female irl?

I play female races, and am female irl. So no surprises there.
Myself, I have no issues with men playing women, except when I'm getting along quite well with that I think is a girl (female toon, the way they behave), and then suddenly turns out to be a man, only being girly-friendly as a way to get into my metaphorical pants. It doesnt work, and its creepy. Lol.
And I know it sounds stupid, but when I'm in a group and there is another female character there, I silently wonder to myself if its real or a man. Its a comfort issue, I dont care if its male, I just want to know either way. I like to know things. Haha. ...I never ask cause I'm scared I'll insult some poor lass.
