Just because we're warriors, doesn't mean we need to be Tanks
Return to board index
As a tank, I'm always picky with groups. I usually just ignore tells for heroics when they don't have any CC. The other day someone asked me to tank Heroic Slave pens with a DPS warrior, 2 Shammies, and a Ret Pally. I promptly declined.
Well, than i can tell you seriously lack the will to learn. I did HC SP in most of the non cc setups (boomkin + 2 ele 1 resto shammies) (retri pala, enh shammy, dps warrior and resto druid and other stuff). I did this with seriously undergeared people or in dps with pvp gear on and i never had a problem with such group (always a new experience). You wont learn new things if you dont try new things.
I only once declined (when ppl asked me to tank hc ramps with 2 dps ferals and sp).
Still eager to do Shattered halls without cc (need good group for it though).
As for on topic answer. My seriously undergeared rogue friend who i got in my arena team complains about my dps output in arena matches: "How do you do it, you are prot, you shouldnt do as much dps as i do."
I tell him two things:
1. Warriors are more gear than spec dependant. I got agressive protection spec (12/5/44), but still can do lots of dps with proper gear and skill rotation.
2. Enemies usually focus on me (no idea why), which results in lots of rage to spend on damage.
HMMM... warrior useless? what about fear, piercing howl, thunder slap...and many more abilities?
Fearing on thrash in heroics is a big nono. Piercing howl sucks in comparison with hunter and shammy slow, thunder clap is an agro move and you should definatelly avoid it on thrash (possibly breaking cc), plus warrior experiences a serious threat problems anyway (unless you got pally tank).
