I love the frog and hamster update, these critters were so blocky as if they came from a game not 13, but 20 years old. When I saw Blizzard updating models for squirrels, rabbits, bears and bear cubs, wolves and other creatures I was really wondering why didn't they include the worst offenders, was it because some creatures are more common in the world than the others? I always thought the Tauren racial pet you can buy in Thunderbluff is the worst of the worst on the "low quality outdated model" list. Our little friend squarehead is finally getting what he deserves.

It was already said it wont come in 8.0. Maybe 8. Something. Just don’t expect anything to be sure. We know that blizz usually back out of their word. So yeah don’t expect anything. Cause they got their hands full right now with BfA. And most probably it will be worgen and goblin model update at the same time. They wouldn’t want any complains from the horde side being bias(though there would still be complains). *shrug*

They are starting to use the old wc3 style within the game, the best example are the humans (reshapped and skinned) and undead too.
That's a nice change for the game. the problem with it might be that they are updating the pc requirements as we already saw on earlir datamining logs.

Drakynoids need an update bad. I think their plan is to give the whole world a facelift over time.

I love that this is happening. I just hope they don't skimp out; I've played the game on and off since a month after launch. My main character was a hunter ('was' because I've since made my worgen rogue my main) back when it could be hard to keep your first pet. And I still have - and use - that first pet, a snow leopard ('Spotted White' on Petopia). But it's been bugging me since I came back that I have so many hunter pets with great models and texturing yet my favorite and most used looks... Blocky. Chunky. He sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison.
It'll be really annoying if they only put that much effort into a handful of creatures but update so many critters.

So happy to see players aren't the only ones who got shiny models. I wonder if they'll update Boars, Gnolls, Troggs, Sabers, Raptors and Furbolg too. To complete the starting area NPCs.
Edits: Added the mobs from a lot of start zones as I remembered them.

Those are great! Can't wait to see them in-game. The only one I kinda don't care for is the pig. The short-nosed twirly-tail we have currently is just too adorable. I'll live though. ;D

I hope all the old models are getting updated with these, the old horse mounts, all of them, our pets and critters, and I hope they keep the different mech chicken skins and I hope we get all the new marmot/prairie dog skins, the new ones are so cute and no longer triangles!

One game I play likes to update models and they completely rehash things from the ground up often completely throwing out the original. I really like how WoW instead tries to stay true to the original while bring it into this decade.

Now I like most of these! But the pig...ugh. What were they thinking? The old model was adorable, but the new one is just ugly. Let's hope it's a mistake, and there's another model hiding in the files somewhere.

Oh noo! The only thing that made the sharks and spiders not that scary was their terrible vanilla models. Now I'm gonna be running like hell from them T_T
