I think this whole brewmaster concept is based on the idea of trying to somehow get the Pandaren race more involved or added.......but I think IMHO if it were a class, I wouldn't play it......it's just sounds kind of silly.....someone who fights while drunk, or by using his drunkeness, or drink.....sounds like a cheap bar fight with swords and such
(side note to TukeDuke: Rogues poison making was removed)
I'm not trying to sell the idea I had for pirates, I did like the Monk idea too (but thought of it more like Friars, not shaolin Monks).....but I thought I would explain some talent ideas of this pirate thing to sell it a little more
I was researching the lore of the pirates in the game already and believe the basis for having alli and horde would be viable.......also, not race specific (except for maybe NE, and the BC characters)
My initial thoughts other than the idea of incorporating pistols into the game (DW pistol): may also include "Hooks" as fist weapons
Talent trees
Buccaneer - straight DPS; heavy into swords/hook skills; This is the macho version running into battles with no regards
Swashbuckling - increases attack rate (much like Rogues)
Pickpocketing - like Rogues without stealth
Sea Master - this is ranged tree with the summoning of sea creatures ability (much like warlock) like Sea Hags, Crabs, or the extreme Gallow's Haunts - Ghosts from hung pirates that do your bidding for a timed period (like shammie's ghost wolves)
Corsair - This is the mage talents using wind and water
use of wind and water elements - casts spells like
Tidal Wave, Hurricane, Trade Winds, Whirlpool; and cast Curse of Davey Jones (limits the targets Attack power or armor)
Mirage - where you disappear and multiple ghost images of you appear giving you time to escape
They too can get bonuses from the use of Alcohol and the drink quests such as the ones in Ratchet
Current Pirates in game:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Pirate
- has the lore
Southsea Freebooters
Southsea Pirates
Southshore privateers
Bloodsail Buccaneers - Alliance
Blackwater Raiders
Defias Brotherhood- Horde
Dread Corsairs
Northsea Freebooters
Well, all I came up with for now.......

I'd love to see a warlord or something - summons minions while dealing mediocre damage in melee, can spec for improved melee skills, improved minions but fewer amount and a tanking role with 2-3 aggro helpers.

I would agree for a monk... but with a twist:
Disciple of the aspects
Basic lore: Dragons has been created as guardians of mortal world. With unimaginable powers they were like gods to lesser racers, but few of them were so fascinated with mortals, that taking their shape conceived half-breed children. Such offspring has been mostly killed either by their parents or other dragons, but few of them managed to escape into world. Most of the lucky ones were living simple life, but few discovered their origin and decided to pursue their destiny.
Roles in game:
Melee and short range caster, possibly tank
Talent trees:
Representing 3 aspects:
Alextrasa: fire, self healing (weak, similar to DK one)
Nozdromu: slow/haste control, high avoidance tree
Neltharion: shadow/slow strong hits tree, high armour tree
With levels player would be able to use more and more typical draconic abilities, that would also alter his/her body: fingers turning into claws, wings allowing to glide (or fly) and push back enemies and finally use the most famous dragons ability: fire breath.
Weapons:
unarmed
Yes, unarmed, but wit special claw buffs similar to shaman ones

First of all, I've gotta say that some of these classes being thrown around are good ideas, but people aren't realizing that they've been done to one extent or another at this point.
First off, the Demon Hunter would be an awesome class, but other than their cloak of fire dealio, its core abilities have all ben taken by other classes. Also, TBC would have been the prime time to implement such a class given the whole Burning Legion theme.
Guildenstern438 has a very solid idea for the Brewmaster class a few posts above this. I'm not gonna just copy paste it for you, but it seems very nice.
As far as races are concerned, Pandaren seems an inevitability. However, I would not be surprised if Blizz took a step even further and made them a neutral race playable by both factions. This would be understandable seeing as how they were neutral mercenaries in WC3.
If blizz wants to stick Pandaren on the Alliance only though, I would see Half-Orc (See Rexxar) as a very viable race for the horde.
