Well there mister Rayford, I like it. I appreciate you taking the time to try and help people, I can respect that. Me only being a 42 shaman, and convincing my bro to make one, I really found this forum helpful. I am not a 70 pro sham, so I guess I don't get offended like other's do about the forum. Feedback is a must of course, but I believe in the part you stated "change to your liking", or something of the sort, strongly. Reason said is my main is a 70 rogue, Remx one of the smartest rogues I know, and the guy's behind shadowpanther.net, have ton's of suggestions for alot of diffrent stuff. But currently I am using an alternate build, from any strongly suggested, but that doesn't mean I learned what I did by myself. Just take what you want from this, do the rest how you feel, or research further, so far this has been a great guide.
THANKS!

I have a question. Is it pointless to have the 5 points of Sheild specialization with the 5% extra mana when you are a resto shaman?

IMO? Yes. Personally, I feel that its more of a tanking talent. And since we don't tank anymore, its of little value to us. Again, my opinion.

Finally, something I’m not sure about... only 5% +hit for special attacks? That number doesn’t seem right... I think it’s 9%...
I'm pretty sure that you're right. I believe that you want 9%, not 5%.

Excuse for bad English and Hello from Russia.
I think Totemic Focus is not necessary, I use spell Totemic Call instead. Duration of buff totems is usualy 2 min. Drop all totems and when time is getting off do Totemic Call, you'll gain 25% of mana back without spending talent points. Big minus of this way - you must watch remaining time.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet. I'm just recently switching over to elemental for the raiding scene and am prepping for Kara. What I'm wondering is what is appropriate spell dmg/hit/crit for Kara?
through Talents I already have
12% spell hit
14% spell Crit
Obviously the more spell crit the better, was kind of wondering what spell hit is suggested for Kara (will need to socket for additional spell hit it seems) as well as Spell dmg

(TTC)The first is Elemental. Speccing into this tree means you're a caster. Think of it like a Mage or Warlock, except you can wear leather armor (and later, mail). This tree requires, for the most part, a healthy balance of spell crit, Intellect, spell damage, mp5, and spell hit. Typically you'll want to try and place spell crit first, followed by spell damage, intellect, spell hit, and then mp5. Basic stats that you will want pre-Karazhan are roughly 8000 mana, 500 spell damage, and 16-18% chance to crit. The standard level 70 Elemental raiding build is similar to this. A minor variation is this one right here. A PvP Elemental build is very similar, with removing the point from Totem of Wrath, and placing it in Nature's Swiftness.

TheMoopy: Ah. Apologies. In my drunken rage (when aren't I drunk, or raging? >.>), I must have misread and missed the spell hit part.
When we were prepping for Kara raids, we had all of our spell DPS sit at at least 50 spell hit rating. Anything else is a bit of a bonus. I'm a firm believer in having a bit more, since Elemental Shammies get a bit of a nice boost from Clearcasting. So more is better, IMO. But having around 50 hit will do ya well.
Rayford -
I'm considering writing a FAQ which will act as a corollary to what you already have here. I've seen a few questions which could be addressed in their own thread and I am interested in seeing some of these things answered. I also don't know how much room you have available to add an extensive FAQ.
So I might throw this together but I don't want to steal your thunder. Objections? Would you rather that I jus include the material as part of this thread?
By all means, go right ahead. I sort of meant this as a general overview of what each spec needs. Unfortunately, with my time being what it is, I just haven't had much of a chance to update it as much as I like.
So go to town. ( :

So Spell crit is pretty important to an elemental shaman I am finding.. the more they crit. the longer they can keep DPS up w/o going OOM in endurance fights those crits, not only giving you more damage, are imperative to lasting the entire fight and not going OOM... I'm seeing that most of the 2.4 gear is focusing on Spell Haste.. Now spell haste is in itself a fine stat, but I am a little worried about the lack of spell crit, I am assuming we are to use the sockets available to make up for the spell crit? or is there other ways of ensuring our crit remains high?
