Wowhead AddOns (Client/Looter) Issue? Report here!

Post by
KillianWH
Wowhead Client starts trying to create %WoW-CLASSIC%\Interface\AddOns folders and fill with files.
1. I don't have (and will NOT) Classic WoW and don't need this addons
2. More serious problem - Wowhead client trying to create this folders in the desktop folder (I mean - near their link) instead of WoW's folder on the other disk
Add: On the other computer %WoW-CLASSIC% correctly created in the WoW's folder. The possible difference between computers - WoW's folder location.
On the first computer WoW installed on D disk into "Games" folder.
On the second computer WoW installed on C disk into "Program Files (x86)" folder.
On the all computers Wowhead Client lies in WoW's folder.

Same issue here.
wowhead client runs from the desktop, says "Could not update a file. Please try again later." then closes.
It creates a %WoW-CLASSIC% folder on the desktop next to the .exe. If I leave the folder there, the client download addon updates to that folder, but those updates are incompatible with BfA.

same issue as 2 above.

1st error today: Could not update the client. Please try again later.
This results in a file created "Wowhead_Client.exeeb89909cbabcc1c07b5e9a5848575fa8.new"
That file is deleted, and wowhead isn't updated.
So, I download the newest version, it creates the "%WoW-CLASSIC%" folder,
and immediately Win10's Antivirus stuff quarantined the entire program...
This error:
Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.
And its gone.
Quantine says:
Trojan:Script/Cloxer.A!cl
Alert level: Severe
Category: Trojan

Can you try again with downloading new version from:
https://client.wowhead.com/files/Wowhead_Client.exe

I'd really love to see the Mac version of the wowhead client anytime soon. Thanks for your support!

You never fixed the bug with the Lock, i have posted it before, did not get any reply.
So i try again.
wowhead.com/forums&topic=254531.16#p4137730
Its annoying that i cant use the Appearances tab in game without having to either modify your .lua file, or disable your addone every time i want to play around with the look of my lock :(
This should, finally, be resolved in our most recent update to the client. :)
omg after years it's finally been fixed, just tested it now and no issues.
out of curiosity, do you know what was causing it to only be affecting warlocks?

Sorry, should have updated this, the newest version is perfectly fine.

I have the WowheadLooter addon running while I play. After exiting, there is no data to upload. Not sure what's going on, if it's something wrong with my files or with the addon/client.

WowHead Client incorrectly thinks classic client uses wowb.exe. In reality WoW Classic uses wow.exe.
Please correct this
Post by
Florack
Using the latest version of WoWHead client and it will not detect my WoW Classic install. When I try and manually locate it it also won't work because it's looking for "wowb.exe" for some reason and not just "wow.exe".
Any help would be welcomed.

I haven't been able to upload since right around 8.2, I get an "authentication failed" error. I did a complete drive wipe and reinstall of Windows on June 23rd, and I believe it hasn't worked since, though I don't think I noticed immediately so I could be wrong.
I've tried re-entering my username and password, both typing and copy/pasting, many times since then. I've successfully changed my password on the website, and the new one doesn't work either. I've tried re-downloading the client from
https://client.wowhead.com/files/Wowhead_Client.exe
, but of course I did a completely clean install of the client, WoW, and everything else a month ago. I've created Windows firewall exceptions for the client. My antivirus (Avira) hasn't popped up with any alerts, and doesn't seem to have its own firewall settings. Neither Windows nor Avira complain when I run the client, and I can use it to launch battle.net.
I wonder if the server is looking for my email instead of my screen name, but the client won't let me enter an email address-- the text box only allows letters and numbers.
I'm using Windows 10 Pro version 1903, and Wowhead Client 1.9.36.(##RESPBREAK##)258##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##You can request assistance with this via . Thank you!

I am unable to upload. I get authentication failed messages and I am for sure using the correct username / password as I type them into word and copy paste just to make sure. This sounds similar to the issue Jblosum has, is there a resolution?

I keep getting authentication failed error from wowhead client and I don't know how to solve it. It doesn't let you type an e-mail in so I used my wowhead username, Lukydude which also didn't work and I have reset my password like 3 times just to be sure but no combo I try to do works at all. How do I get the client to upload all this juicy classic data?

Same problem here, tried to reset password and everything. Any update on this issue?

This a problem on my part
I downloaded the app, and made an initial upload which I believe was done correctly. I closed the app (as I do with all things I'm not currently using), and now I don't know how to open it again to made a new upload
In-game options in the icon next to the mini-map are working fine but there is not option to upload data so I can't(##RESPBREAK##)258##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##You need to open Wowhead_Client.exe from your computer to upload data.
