Perk
Thule Orbit
Perk watched, the sky suddenly splitting open as a lone drop-pod expoded into being; racing towards the planet at impressive speeds.
"It 'eemch we're not alone..." The Kig'Yar noted at the sight.
R-120
Thule Atmosphere
One minute and fifty two point six three seven seconds.
That was how long it took between exiting the Ley Lines, and entering Thule's atmosphere. Flames roared along the metal pod, which showed little sign of slowing. Thrusters opened and roared to life, sending the pod flipping and careening at a new, less steep, angle.
R-120 checked his sensors, waiting for a reasonable altitude. The pod was, by no means, a suitable landing craft. It was never designed as one, instead meant to ressemble probes that had been sent to the new planet previously.
A thousand feet, eight hundred, five hundred.
With a hiss, the pod broke open at nearly three hundred feet. The droid threw himself to freedom; spinning for a moment as he dropped. Wind raced by, filling his sensors and blinding all but his most basic of readings.
For a millisecond, R-120 almost felt alive. And then, bracing himself, he smashed down into the Thule's surface.

A hand snapped past the pirate's beak and snatched up a radio transceiver. "Hey! Hey Ten! Hear me?" Jack shouted into the microphone. His finger jabbed at the falling object as though the pilot were by his side. "See the thing? The rocket thing? Where it lands? Land near that! I wanna see what it is. Could be an escape pod or a resource canister." Jack gasped sharply. "There might be candy inside! Liquorice and ^&*! We gotta find out. The galaxy must know!"

Thule Orbit
"Or..." The pirate glared at Jack. "It could be 'omet'ing waiting to kill u'."
R-120
Thule
Dusk cleared around what had once been a large opening, full off grass. Now the grass was ripped free, a small crater leading to an outwards ripple of upturned earth and loose soil.
Standing from a kneeling position, R-120's sensors came back to life, and the droid lit up, jets of smoke releasing as his joints re-opened, having closed and locked for the impact. Raising an arm, he held a hand skywards.
A signal escaped from his hand, throwing itself in all directions like a sonar. To a mortal, the speed it moved would have been instantaneous, but to R-120, it was mockingly slow. Finally, he received a signal in return, almost three whole seconds after sending his. The homing beacon on his pod had activated, somewhere to the west.
Nodding, he stated off.

"I suppose I'll take it," Virgus replied.
As he spoke Castus returned from the rear of the ship and took his seat once again.

"Nay. It is not. Nope," he replied. "Which is why we must find out if it did carry it!"

"Damn," Virgus cursed. "That's just enough time to not have anything to do in the meantime."

Virgus clutched at his seat as they were struck by the sudden turbulence. His brother, as per usual, remained largely at ease.

Castus peered at the world floating in the abyss, its two moons and ring drifting about it with deceptive ease. His eyes sparked and a hand tightened on the arm of his seat.
"That's it," he hissed.

The descent to the surface was gradual and calm. Only when breaking the atmosphere did the ship shudder even slightly as gravity asserted its presence once more. Adjusting to the planet's pull, the shaking was momentary and soon the craft was skimming over thick trees and pointed cliffs.
From his vantage in the tower above Jack smiled and pressed himself against the glass. Up closer the planet was even more beautiful than from orbit, with its deep forests pockmarked by lakes, cut by rivers, and dominated by mountains and the occasional long aqueducts which cut above the forests splendour.
"There!" he cried, pointing at a great gash where the pod had struck, knocking trees akimbo in a descending incline before marring the planet's surface with a long trench in the forest floor. He needn't have spoken, for the ship was already following the trail with all the doggedness of a bloodhound, guided under the skilled hand of their pilot.
From her position in the cockpit Mishka eyed the scar in the landscape with suspicion. What would come here in a pod, she wondered with ill ease. And was it wise to search out something whcih had.
