This idea sounds fun, but I was just wondering how you were planning on being BiS with the fact that you can only own 10g at a time and cannot trade or use the AH? Sounds very difficult.
It IS difficult, that's part of the fun.
You can't always get to BiS, for example I would love a +30 int enchant on my staff but since you can't trade with anyone you can't even get a friend with higher enchanting skill to give you one for free. I have to make do with the +3 int enchant I can do myself with skill 100 in enchanting.
However you can still have fun getting your ftp char as good as possible on a ftp account, it takes a bit of planning and effort as you have to do everything yourself.
Here's my "ftp twink":

I enjoy hunting achievements on that char too, I especially enjoyed stealing the Darkmoon Duelist right in front of a bunch of highlevels.. I would love it even more if I could use the trinket, hehe..

YEEEEESH that must have took FOREVER. Just a suggestion - in future if you do need an heirloom and JP is not an option (like now) honor is actually a pretty good way. I bought a few things when I leveled my druid through pvp.
Where do you buy
Dignified Headmaster's Charge with honor points? You can get the
Grand Staff of Jordan with no int on it or
Advisor's Gnarled Staff with a tiny bit of int and no spell power. On a f2p account you're much better of with one of the staves from an instance run rather than the ones bought with honor.
As far as the forever thing, you can get like 150 tickets in a week of darkmoon faire and the staff costs 160. I actually got mine in one week because blizzard glitched and resat the trade quests so I got to do the engineering, enchanting, fishing, first aid and cooking quest an extra time, but even without it you can pretty much get your heirloom in a week.
First time you go to darkmoon faire you get 5 tickets for free. That's a one time deal.
Secondly you take advantage of the fact that blizzard resets the dailies at 3 am while darkmoon faire opens at midnight, that means on the first day of darkmoon faire you can actually do the dailies twice. If darkmoon opens midnight on the 5th you go to darkmoon a few minutes past midnight, do the dailies, go to bed, at 3 am blizz resets the dailies and you get to do them again while still on the 5th. That's 40 tickets from the daily mini games - the cannon shot, whack a mole, ring toss, tonk tanks and shooting gallery for 5 ticket a day for 7 days plus the 5 tickets you managed to get in the first 3 hour window after the darkmoon faire opened up.
Test your Strength gives you another 10 tickets after you kill 250 mobs.
You get another 40 tickets from turning in an Imbued Crystal, Monstrous Egg, Mysterious Grimoire and Ornate Weapon, all 4 drops from instances available at lvl 20. Just run some instances and collect the 250 kills needed for Test your strength at the same time. Drop rate on the 4 items are really good as long as you have the darkmoon book in your inventory.
You get 9 tickets for doing the fishing, cooking and first aid quest. You can't do the archeology one of a f2p account.
Finally you get 44 tickets by doing all the profession quests, grind them to skill 75, do the darkmoon quest, drop the profession for another one, grind that to 75 skill and so on. 11 main professions at 4 tickets each. Takes a bit of effort but not too hard to do - I've done worse grinds.
Grand total: 148 tickets in a week of darkmoon faire first time you ever do darkmoon faire, 143 tickets next time darkmoon is in town because you can't repeat the initial invitation quest that gave you 5 tickets. All available on a f2p account.
All in all you can get your heirloom staff i 2 visits of the darkmoon faire, that's 5 weeks in real life which is very far from FOREVER in my book. You'll be busy on the first 2 days of darkmoon faire grinding the stuff needed to do the professions and running instances for those 4 drops, after that it's just doing the 5 mini games every day, wait a month for the next darkmoon faire and doing a couple of days more of mini games.
