Low level Affliction rotation/priority
Return to board index
Hi. I've started levelling am Affliction Warlock and I wondered about my priorities in combat. At level 11 I assume I start with
, then instant
to get two DOTs ticking, but my question was regarding what to do next. I have the choice of spamming
. They seem to kill mobs at about the same rate but I wasn't sure if there was something situational I was perhaps missing.
Cheers in advance.
At your level, let the dots do their work and just sit back and enjoy watching things die. In other words, there really isn't a rotation at low levels beyond what you find easiest for yourself; I know when I was leveling and was Afflict in dungeons, I was just tab targeting Dot Spam since they wouldn't last long enough for my spells to actually hit. You could invest in Harvest Life if you plan on doing lots of dungeons at the low level at least then you'll have an AoE.
Is this what is meant by multi-dotting? - getting dots onto as many targets as possible and letting them do their thing?
Pretty much; just don't try it too often while soloing till about the mid 50's.
Harvest Life on easy, easy mobs, Shadowbolt on anything that will live for 2+ casts of it.
Always what I found the most efficient.
I rolled a Lock to level through a mix of PvP, questing and Dungeons (but final goal is to make a PvP toon), and I'm currently at level 34. I tried to play Afflic but I found the DPS (at this level) horrible. Switched to Demo and I'm doing a lot better now.
I like the whole Afflic gameplay, I will probably play that on BGs later on, but right now I'm sticking to Demo.
Affli really isnt viable at low levels, nothing lives long enough for DoTs to be efficient, youre better off running Destro or maybe Demo until youre high level.
