Levelling up some new toons through Dungeon Finder, one of which is a Tank/Heals monk, as I like to change from one to the other occasionally.
I have noticed that when gear drops, it no longer shows me who rolled Need/Greed in my chat log, so if I am tanking, and a healing piece drops that is an upgrade for that set, I can no longer see if the Healer in that group needed on it.
Is there any way to change this in my settings? Or is this a permanent change since MoP came out?

There's a separate loot window now.
You can make sure it pops up when loot drops if you look in Game Menu -> Interface -> General, it should have an exclamation point as a new feature.
It shows each piece of loot, and what people choose (need, greed, DE) and then what they rolled and who won.

Is there anyway to get it back on your normal chat log window? Or can it only be in it's own separate window?

It can only be in it's separate window, but it does open up each time loot is rolled for except in LFR.

no way that I know of to get it back into the chat log from its own window. However, to open that window, type /loot

There might be an addon that will put the rolls back into the chat window, I don't know of any though.

My problem was more to do with seeing what other people had rolled.
When tanking, I didn't want to need on a healing item, if the healer had needed, and vice-versa.
I have worked out the loot window now, so it appears all good. Just a shame that they changed something, that didn't really appear to need changing.
