Hey there,
We've gotten some Malware notification repots recently and have looked into it more. It seems this is a widespread issue affecting many popular sites including The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post--
but these sites displaying notifications actually have Malware. We are not spreading Malware on Wowhead!
Netseer, an ad company that helps with targeting ads to websites, had their corp domain hacked at 5:30 am. Their ad platform and their corp domain are the same, so when Chrome blocked netseer.com even though no malware made it into the ad platform, it inadvertently blocked any site using an ad provider that used netseer.

Ah- that must be why Chrome gives me a malware warning when I go to Failblog the last 2 days.
EDIT: Nevermind- the details on Failblog say that they actually had positives on Malware being installed from those pages.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

The issue happened this morning so if a blog reported issues before, it's something different.

I would have appreciated a response from my twitter to you 22 hours ago. OR just a tweet out to the gaming community re: this " issue".
frankly I wasn't about to return to WoWhead until I had more info.

We made a post at the top of our news post, in the feedback forum, and also replied with this response to anyone who emailed . We are a small staff and aren't always checking Wowhead twitter when it's a busy time like the PTR. If you have more concerns in the future, emailing is your most reliable bet.
