Returning Player - A few quetions
Return to board index
Hi everyone, hope this is in the right place lol sorry if its' not! I'm a returning player and looking to start fresh this time :) Haven't played for about 2 years now. Was Alliance. I'm CST zone, mainly PvE love to do dungeons and explore rarely do PvP, no gold, no bags, no heirlooms, no friends currently interested in coming back with me lol and I already decided I want to main as a Warlock :D
With all that, is there a good recommendation for a server and/or a faction? Any one faction more dominant PvE on CST servers? I sorta poked around a few servers on a free trial account to check a few servers out and the prices on bags all seem so much higher then they used to be...was that just a wrong time thing or is that the normal now?
Can't think of anything else I'm to concerned about atm. Any advice or tips is appreciated! Thanks :D
Bags will go up in price depending on the time of the expansion and the overall economy of the realm.
Right now Netherweave Bags on my realm are like 18g, but Frostweave ones are 250. We have people leveling alts in our guild all the time so we just keep a heafy amount of Netherweave Bags in our guild bank.
My realm is Whisperwind, which is also CST. It's a PVE realm with lots of guilds for progression and chilling out. It's not a heavily populated server, though, but it definitely isn't dead either. It's the happy medium.
Other realms I've been on are Malfurion and Frostmane. Frostmane is pretty well populated, but also a PVP realm. Malf is a little more populated than Whisperwind (or so it was before I transfered away, not sure how it is for Pandaria now), and PVE realm. Both are CST.
Not sure if that even helps you any, but regardless good luck in your endeavors!
Rystrave hit the nail on the head with the bags. The prices on Netherweave Bags can flux between 5g and 25g on my server. But frostweave bags normally run 225g plus.
Mok'Nathal is also a CST server, but there are only 3-4 guilds maybe that are "Progression" guilds. The others down content, but not at the rate of some of the larger servers. I have a great deal of friends who just transfered to Proudmoore, so you may want to take a look there as well....not sure what time zone it is however.
The other thing to keep in mind is that on the more populated servers, it doesn't matter what time zone you are in. I am currently on Blackrock and I see runs going all the time...seen some as early as 6am and as late as 2am my time. (I am in CST rocking it out in the big city of Nashville!)
I've thrown it out there a few times before, but I am always looking for new game buddies, and don't mind helping other players out. Feel free to add me via battletag....
Yeah I think the bag prices I was seeing was just a fluke or something. I was seeing them between 20g and as high as 75g on some places.
Was looking at the list of realms from the Chicago data center, all CST/PvE and it looks like all 15 servers are mostly Alliance with just one (the 16th) being Horde dominated. So I'm guessing it would probably be better to stick with Alliance still?
I know it doesn't really matter which realm I do end up choosing as I can play on any I want but I want to make sure I get the best fps or ping lol Last time I had played I was on a PST server and I had horrible latency all the time!
