Warlocks should be able to permanently enslave like Hunter Tames!

I adore the idea of Locks ripping their minions out of the twisting nether and Enslave Demon used to be so much fun, but temporary. I play a hunter and a lock and I feel like Locks get a little shafted. We should be able to enslave our own minions, have challenging ones to go after. Imagine how much fun a little Sha would be to have! Every expansion has had boatloads of choices of things we could go after. It could be hard and take strategy to get rare ones. They've done so much with Hunter tames, I think breaking a minion and twisting it to our will would be epic and truly add to the feel and lore of the Warlock. What do you guys think?

As it stands there are only three demon races that you can't use as permanent pets; which are Pit Lords, Satyrs and Eredar...everything else is a pet now.
Since Hunters can't tame everything in the game, makes sense you can't keep everything as a warlock.

Right, but there are different colors and such. Plus, there's new little bad things that could count as a demon in pretty much every xpac.

Are demons of
this variety
available to Warlocks?

Things have changed so much in Vanilla, I get the level of detachment vs. really liking your pet, but the process itself can be made different, even if it's something along the lines of enslaving one kind of demon gives you the the ability to rip that type of demon from the twisting nether whenever you wish. I guess "attuning" yourself with that species. They could make such awesome rare demons, and even with the Sha in MoP, they could do so much with them. I feel like it's this whole other world of gameplay they could open for Locks and it's just being neglected.

In other words, a Warlock can tame a sha when a hunter can tame the Whale Shark.Don't give the hunters ideas...

What about a "meet in the middle" situation, where depending on the Warlocks area they could proc a summon similar to the Death Knights army?
For example, a 5min cooldown that a Demonology Warlock use, that would channel his energy to tear a whole between the dimensions and pull a demon who was unfortunate enough to be stalking around near-by. A "random" skinned type demon(s) would then appear and fight for the Warlock for X amount of time.
That way, they look different, are disposable, and sort of make sense from a 'powers' level?

Isn't that what
Wild Imps
kind of is already? Just change the visual and make it a giant frenzy of demons. Other than "sha's being a physical manifestation of emotion," I was trying to get at going through some epic process to be able to use certain demons, rare ones, that you'd have to really work at to get. Warlocks are supposed to have this amazing power at the cost of their physical bodies, right? It's supposed to drain the lock to be able to bend these demons to our will. It would make sense that certain locks would go in search of bigger, badder, harder to obtain minions. Being able to control more powerful demons seems like it would be something so tempting to some Warlocks just by their enslavement mindset.

Wild Imps, Infernal and Doomguard already ARE those randomly summoned demons...
I'd like warlocks to be able to switch the skin/model of the current demon with that of a similar NPC demon - Imps can only be changed into other Imps, Felhunter only into other Felhunters (does that model even have ingame reskins?) and that of course counts for Grimoire of Service demons, e.g. the Oberver can only copy Beholders.
I'd give it a low priority, though.
