You might try something like this,
#showtooltip Touch of Chaos; Shadow Bolt
/use !metamorphosis
/cancelaura metamorphosis
/use Shadow Bolt <----If that doesn't switch to ToC in meta try "/use Touch of Chaos; Shadow Bolt"
Someone correct me if I'm wrong please, but this
should
essentially allow you to piggy back a meta onto a SB(ToC) cast by hitting shift. And will cancel meta by hitting shift again while in meta and casting ToCs. If you don't hit shift, it just casts ToC/SB. You just need to change SB/ToC to whatever pair of spells you want ot piggy back it onto.
As for DA, it doesn't have it's own stance/form number so It's much more difficult to manage with macros. The best you can do is probably just to macro DA with any damage reduction CDs you might want

not to derail this topic (because it's one of the better lock-related macro questions I've seen... ie not the typical "i want to push one button and make my dots work").
I'm trying to do a defensive cooldowns button - I want to have a single key cast 1)
, and 2)
Unending Resolve
... not at the same time, but some sort of cast sequence setup so I can just hit the one key to use whatever is not on cooldown (maybe press once for one spell... if it's on coolddown, just mash the key a 2nd time)... I don't want to use a modifier though, because this will already likely by my alt-5 keybind or something of the sort.

sorry but that specifically is not possible. The macro system does not allow checks on whether or not an ability is on CD, nor does it allow for checks to see if you have a perticular buff.
Best you can do is 1) use a modifier, or 2) use a cast sequence with a reset. option 2) looks like this
/castsequence reset=180 Dark Bargain, Unending Resolvebut if you hit it a 2nd time, before the reset timer is up, it will use UR and re-set the reset timer (got it?). OTOH if you don't hit it for the 3 min, then DB comes available again and the macro resets to use it preferentially.
This works as a workaround

for some people and really only for 2 spells, if oyu have a 3 spell cycle it's very hard to pick a reset time that will work for you. The issue is that reset time is from the 'time of last use' of the macro, not first, reguardless of whether or not something actually got cast.
But you cannot exactly do the 'cast thing 1, and thing 2 only if thing 1 is on CD;'

Edit: Works perfectly! I even duplicated it with my shaman (astral shift / stoneform). Thanks so much for the help, it's what I've wanted for a LONG time.
