Hi there. I recently returned to WoW after a year break and i am about to get my priest to lvl 90. Therefore I have a question about transmog since it was changed a little in MoP (i suppose). Am I now able to transmog using old pvp stuff? I.e. priests A2 set or can i use only pve sets? Thanks in advance.

Actually, given that the reference is "old pvp stuff" I would think he meant "arena season 2" by "A2" rather than AQ40 pve gear.
OP, you should be able to 'mog using pvp gear. Most of the bans include white/gray, non-soulbound items and/or items that are considered too silly, such as
Sandrene's Invisible Vest
. Many older gear sets that were otherwise not available were added as stat-less gear from the Darkmoon Faire vendor to get them back in the game.

In general, all PvP items are completely compatible with transmogrification, with the only exception being the Vanilla PvP gear (before the Arena gear) which does not work, however, if you earned the corresponding title in Vanilla, you can purchase replicas which
do
work.

This. I know I was unable to use the level 60 pvp gear as I didn't start doing PVP seriously until WotLK. Makes me sad now, since I cant get any of that sexy sexy mog gear.

Well they did say they would
consider
making it available through other means as well, I'd guess via the new Rated BG Ranks. However, don't count on that to happen soon, or ever.
