Getting into PvP now and have a ?
Return to board index
ok so i been playing about a year now and i have gotten to the point where i completly scratched my off spec for PvP. Playing allot and im exaulted with all factions. The 2nd half of my week each week i got my VP capped and all my raids done so i decided to start working on a PvP off spec with all the extra time. I am a warrior and i use protection spec to tank for my guild in PvP raids but i have completly scratched my DPS off spec which is fury for PvP! Anyway here is my question. I am loving the PvP but what are some tips or something i need to be trying to get like a trinket somewhere or something maybe? Because i spend an awfull lot of time in BGs getting snared, rooted, and put to sleep. Is there a ideal way to cut down on this some? Or is it just because my gear sucks and im new as i only have a few honor pieces and a blacksmith starter set with pvp power and resil?
If you don't have much pvp gear, work on it. Maybe que with some geared friends. Get the medallion pvp trinket and keep farming for the honor gear. Get atlasloot mod, so you can view some of the raids and look for a good dps trinket aswell.
Well I'd say that gear is a problem, but having contender gear isn't terrible. You have to realize that I would say the majority of people who do random bg's have quite a bit of dreadful pvp gear, making them a little bit harder for you to kill.
I'm not sure what spec you use, because you said in pvp raids...what are pvp raids? I'm not quite understanding it. And what do you mean you've completely scratched your DPS offspec? Do you mean you pretty much never use it?
If you want to go prot, I'd say just continue running random battlegrounds like you are. You're going to die a lot. And you're probably going to lose a lot. That happens with everyone who starts fresh with getting pvp gear. Don't get discouraged because I'm a fury warrior with almost complete full malev gear and I still get blown up by some people. Now, the trinket is a good thing to have, but you'll have to realize that you'll still get snared and frozen, and stunned, due to the fact that your trinket is going to have a CD.
So to end this, just keep at it. Once you start getting gear you'll start seeing improvement in survivability and damage and you'll be more happy than you were. I suggest using safeguard and avatar as a means to get out of those snares.
