Strange traditions.

Happy st. Stephen's day, or boxing day, or whatever you call it! An Irish tradition is "Hunting the Wren". No alcohol may be sold on christmas day, a law trying to ensure that the population won't arrive drunk for mass.
Poor people would go from house to house today, and pub to pub, playing, singing, dancing: whatever they could do, busking up a box of leftover food, and maybe a bit of money. Hopefully a few drinks!

Also a tradition that I'm sure Elhonna would firmly support. In Cork city, in particular, on the 6th January/twelve night, there's a great big hen party. In Ireland, traditionally the women do all the work. On that day, the men have to look after it, and the kids. The girls get their glad rags on and celebrate "Little Christmas" together. Fair play! HUP!
