Contender's Spirit is perfectly fine for heroics. You don't lose out on secondary stats wearing PvP-gear this expansion so there's really no argument to be made against it (ex. comparing
Contender's Spirit Boots
to
Glintrok Sollerets
).

If your current gear level is over 430ish, you won't even need to buy it and you can just go to heroics as you are. It may be possible you'll have to scramble and use CD's a bit, but that's not a bad thing to get used to.
