I got Gauntlets of the Shadowy Protector (Raid Finder) from LFR earlier. I already have the 496 gloves that dropped from Sha of Anger (Which are the SAME GLOVES that I Would trade in the Raid Finder Gauntlets of Shadowy Protector for, same name, stats, ilvl, everything - same EXACT gloves). However, it gives me the option to upgrade it.
My question is: Can I upgrade the Gauntlets the two times I can upgrade them, to make them high enough to use to trade in for the Heroic level trade in for the 509 ilvl hands?
May be a stupid question and I doubt you can do it...but I wanted to ask before I tested it out just because, and waste 1500 Valor and it not happening.

you cant upgrade the actual token, it mentions its upgradeable since you can improve the item you get from it with valor.
also the sha gloves are actually better then the LFR ones, since the Sha drops normal mode gear (ilvl496, while LFR is 483)

once you traded the token for a set a gloves you can upgrade them 2x with valor, but the LFR one stays inferior too the normal one (like the heroic remains superior too normal at all times)

Felhunter, you're slightly wrong.
According to this comment
, upgrades applied to the token are applied to the purchased item as well. However, you cannot upgrade an LFR token to Normal or even Heroic. It's just the same as upgrading the purchased item.

sure that just aint a glitch they havent fixed since its ilvl is above 458?

Since upgrades carry over from normal items exchanged for heroic ones, I guess it's a secondary, but not necessarily unwanted effect.

Hi can you tellme where the vendor is for the Shadowy Protector gear as i got leggings token and cant find it anywhere your help would be much appreciated
This question isn't exactly on the original topic, but I'll post a response anyway. In the future, remember that Wowhead is a database website and you can search for information (like on that token you got:
Wowhead search for token name "leggings of the shadowy protector"
) and click the links to find the related info you're looking for, such as the exact piece of armor you want to buy with the token and what vendor sells it.
