it depends if you kill the boss who drops the sha touched weapons on normal/heroic each week and spending 10k gold is a lot too you. safe the gem.
if your not progressed far enough too kill the boss that drops the sha touched weapon on normal/heroic or if 10k gold isnt that much for you. use the gem in the LFR version till you get a better one and then buy a new gem for that weapon.

It's safe to assume that if something drops in LFR, it'll also drop in Normal and Heroic modes.

Once you have socketed the gem, you can buy another from Wration for 10k.
