Level does not change.
Your toon transfers as is. The only thing that might be affected is reputations.

Your faction reps transfer over to the equivalent facton..(ie Stormwind -> Orgrimmar).
HOWEVER
any quests you are working on (Legendary wep), any meta achiements (Lorewalker) will be reset.

Yeah, this happened to me...with Argent Tournment achievements. I also lost my
Crusader
title
, when i faction changed. But when i changed back again, i got the title back & all of the achievements.
