A social 25man, is it realistic?

Allright so,
I'm currently the guild master of a modest 10 man raiding guild called Disbanded. We've been having some trouble to fill our raid roster lately, since we've had about 4 ppl quit raiding at the same time, and now, weeks and weeks later, we still haven't managed to fill those slots, and it's starting to REALLY hurt our progression, and in tandem with that, our reputation as a raiding guild.
Now, me and my officers have been actively looking for people for over a month, but noone really seems interested in just another casual 10 man raiding guild. So I was wondering...
WHAT IF we transfered to 25man? I know, this would mean recruiting alot of people up front, but I, for one, really, really like the epic feeling of a 25man raid, and I know alot of other people feel the same way. Unfortunately, lately the only real 25man guilds have been hardcore and top end raiding guilds. Would a social, casual raiding guild that takes it easy on progression (let's say at least half heroic cleared by the end of the patch) appeal to people? I would really like your opinions on this subject, because I think it might just be a thing people are looking to find.
Imagine a recruitement message like:
<Disbanded>, THE social 25 man raiding guild is looking for more skilled members of any class our spec to get to raid those epic, big-battle 25 man raids! Do you feel your 10man just doesn't submerge you into the large fights enough? Always enjoyed the big social atmosphere of a 25man guild? Want to go 25 man, but no time for 3+ days a week of raiding? Look no further, Disbanded is here for you!
What would you feel about this?
Thanks in advance,
Merberan
P.S.: if you happen to be on Auchindoun-EU and looking for a social/casual guild... Gimme a shout :p

I personally wouldn't be interested specifically in a 25-man guild over a 10-man, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a market for it. I think there are probably other people who miss the 25-man feel and would like to have that again.
On the other hand, if you're having trouble filling 4 more slots, do you think you're be successful at trying to fill 19 more? Also, I don't know if people who want to have the additional challenge of a 25-man group will be looking for a casual raid experience- they might be, but I'm not sure.
I'd recommend posting something on the official forums for your realm, and seeing if this is something that generates a lot of interest.

Yeah my thought process about the recruiting:
10man, casual, low progressed:
One of many, loads of other (and possibly better) options
25man, casual:
Near as makes no difference unique
So the people looking for it may actually be more drawn to join it, instead of just the 'one-of-many' 10mans.

"Social" is a very vague definition and the pedestal on which of any number of unrealistic hopes regarding player/people behaviour has been placed over the years. Might want to be a bit more specific than that before rushing off to size up, just saying.

Yeah, like Elhonna said, if you're having problems finding 4 more for 10m, how are you gonna find 19 more for 25m? From experience, the 25m market is much smaller than 10m since it's a lot harder to deal with 25 different people's schedule and finding the right balance amongst the group.
Many of the 25m groups that are together today have been together through numerous expansions and have committed players to that set group.

I'm well aware of the challenges converting to a 25man would bring, I was just wondering if there would be a market for it. Seems as though it's pretty 'meh' overall though, appearantly not everyone misses 25mans as much as I do D:
Also, entropy, I know openraid, but how can it help me in my guild-stuff?

You might use Open Raid to look for those 4 people you can't find on your server for your current raid team, and if you find that they mesh with the group really well, the might even be willing to transfer to join your guild.

Of course there is a market for it! There is a market for everything. Casual 10s casual 25s, hardcore 10s , hardcore 25s (maybe slightly less hardcore 25s since the loot from from 10s was changed to be exactly the same as 25s). Ive been in the same 40man-25man casual raiding guild for almost 7 years now. We have our staffing issues, most casual groups do, we can't/don't prioritize raiding so sometimes we are short. But we still have fun and end up taking down the final tier before the xpac is over. It takes a while with a large group due to high gear diffusion, but its better than raiding with a bunch of ego-maniacal jack-holes. Keep at it! Spread the word. Ask around. Friends of Friends of Friends.

@Dork- but don't you think there's a difference between having a guild that survived the major shift from 40 to 25 to 10 man raiding, because they had started raiding together (and were already friends most likely) when you needed groups of those sizes for the various raids, and starting a brand new guild now, and trying to become a 25-man group?

Just a side note, do cross-realm raids even work with the current tier? (for the openraid thingy)

I totally agree. It's a much more difficult boss to slay... But it is still possible. We have always had the same core group of about 10 people since back in the day. Which makes it (admittedly) a lot easier. But I still think that putting a 25m casual group together is possible. It's just difficult. It takes a lot of word-of-mouth and a lot of recruiting and a lot trial and error. I think realm x-fers were a total bonus to a guild like mine. We were able to get our RL friends who played on other servers to come and raid with us. Has Merberan tried to go that route? We all know people that play right?

Oh yeah- I forgot about that. It does not work for the current tier. However, you might still meet people doing old content that way. And maybe get some mounts and achievements knocked out in the meantime.
