I maen, The thing's a DEMON SKULL with smaller LASERS orbiting it. How can you rival that level of awesome? Any other spells that look equally oversized and badass?

Well... Chaos wave comes to mind :-P as well as metamorphosis. But outside of Locks my favorite spell animations are Stormstrike, many of the Brewmaster Monk animations (breath of fire and anything to do with kegs especially), Stampede, Cobra Shot, Ascendance, Rising Sun Kick, Execution Sentence, Pyroblast... yeah i have a few favorites ><

Just realized, Execution sentence is the same thing as chaos bolt, but with hammers of righteous wrath instead.
I'm pretty sure theres other spells that have the exact same method

I always liked Drain Soul. You can see the souls being sucked in the channel into your hand. You gotta really zoom in, but it looks badass.

Outside of Locks ? I always enjoyed Ele Shaman's Chain Lightning. Even better if you manage to proc multiple casts through the mastery and Echo of the Elements talents. Add in a Ghost Iron Dragonling, and you're throwing lightning EVERYwhere.
It always reminds me of the scene from Return of the Jedi:
Young fool... Only now, at the end, do you understand... *ZAP* Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side. *ZAP*
Other than that, glyphed Shadow bolt and Chaos wave also looks awesome. Those are the two reasons I can't change my spec from Demo :)

Shadow priest -Halo is quite a good one...looks cool.
Pyroblast - fire mage on a good graphics machine, also looks very very nice.

I would have to agree priest's halo looks awesome. But i remember in BC the only reason i wanted to level my lock was because of Incinerate, how it swerves to the targets location, and if the target is flying it still hovers on the ground and shoots up

I have a nightelf DK, and he spins while attacking. Sometime I zoom in to really get the feel of chopping somebody up. Well I like to jump while attacking for whatever reason, and sometimes I do the spin and come crashing down with my axe on top of somebody's head. So it's a 360 smash on there head. It just looks so brutal. And since dk's are sinister looking, it adds to it.
