and I have to say that having leveled a bounty hunter to lvl 22 that it is the most fun I have had in any mmo maybe ever outside of when I used to do raids with a very close knit group on a weekly basis back in bc. From a soloable content pov though(though I also have been playing it with my wife) it really does blow away any other mmo I have played which includes mostly wow but also a few others.
I am writing this semi review of it mainly because I am very surprised at the number of people who seem to think it must suck since it went F2P or things of that nature. I recommend trying it to anyone who has even a semi interest in sw or sci fi genre games. The level of roleplay in swtor is far beyond anything you get to do in wow(I still play wow btw and have been for most of the last 6-7 years) and reminds me a lot of games such as Balder's Gate where you really feel like you have some degree of choice in how quests are completed and who your toon really is as a person. Just thought I would recommend this game to anyone who may have considered it and is looking for more roleplay in an mmo.

I would totally recommend giving a shot of SW:TOR to anyone. Some aspects of the game might not have turned out the best, but it is still classic BioWare sci-fi interactive storytelling. It is worth it to experience the single player content it has. Heck, you could even see it as one of the longest recent single player rpgs (since it has like 8 different questing campaigns).

Actually, if we get technical about it, it has 16 different questing campaigns, given that its 8 light-sided ones, and 8 dark-sided ones)
My final verdict on SWTOR is: Its a HORRIBLE MMO, but a fantastic RPG, and worth the playthrough till you at least complete each individual campaign (Specially the Imperial Agent and Jedi Knight ones)

I agree that SWTOR is a great single player RPG. I finished the Trooper campaign, almost finished the Imperial agent, and got to various levels between 10 and 35 of every other class. The stories were great, and I liked the immersiveness of the voice acting. The mechanics were fine, and I enjoyed the Jedi Knight more than I have enjoyed melee classes in other MMO's from a gameplay standpoint.
However, all of the elements that mad it a great single player game, made it hard for me to treat it as an MMO. When I finished my main character's story, I didn't want to spend time gearing her up and grinding out end-game rewards. All I wanted to do was go back and level something else, for the new story. And it was a hard game to play in vent with other people, because every 5 minutes there was a voiced dialogue, so I ended up not talking to my guild while playing. I didn't even want to level with other people, because I was so into the story, I didn't want someone to "ruin" it for that character by making the choices I didn't want made for quests. Even if I didn't take the hit in points, I really wanted the story to play out consistently. Flashpoints were ok because you could go back and do them again, but quests were a one time shot, and affected future quests.
SWTOR is a really great game, and I think any RPG fan should play it, but I don't think it's something where you'll get the real MMO experience.
