World PVP has become kind of rare. There seems to be more of it with the world bosses, but otherwise it hardly happens. I see some battles going on still in Hellfire, but not enough to make it worth while. There are a couple groups on my server that arrage world PVP. They have a sign up sheet on the realm forums when it does happen.
This early in expansion, raiding capital cities is at a stand still until people get better geared, simply because the guards are stronger as are the bosses. I'm sure city raids will become more common once people get geared. Throughout Cata, there was at least one city raid a week on my realm.
As for the RP question, no clue. I know people still do, but I'm not one of them.
I also think for the most part, glitches to get to GM islands and going under Org and SW, are fixed. There are probably some glitches still around, but I don’t know any of them.
Overall, I think the community has changed a bit but not drastically. There are still those people committed to the game, and those who casually play. With the addition to CRZ (cross realm zones) less populated realms seem more lively. Though CRZ is, for the most part, deemed by part of the community as a giant fail, it should allow one to feel like they're part of a whole instead of a ghost realm. Also, in my opinion, I think there is a lot more “gimme gimme” instead of actually working for it.

From what I've seen over the years, A LOT of people on pvp servers don't actually like to pvp and they will go to great lengths to avoid it. People like to talk about "this" killed world pvp or "that" killed it but they're wrong. Flying didn't kill world pvp, summoning stones didn't kill it, lfd didn't kill it either; the ONLY thing that killed it was the players and how lazy they've gotten.
Role playing on the other hand... On RP servers rp is everywhere but sadly most of it is complete garbage. Everyone runs their own little story line and they're completely and absolutely rigid in their "Storytelling" and they have zero ability to adapt to any kind of change. They organize server events that really boil down to them doing whatever they want, ignoring anyone else who happens to be doing something they don't like; it's just a giant event to showcase how amazing they are.
Oh, and then you have the rp crowd here that pretty much just boils down to people posting bad fan fiction in a thread.

I'll give my vote the world pvp depends of your server, for example on mine Klaxi'va is know now as Tarren Mills 2.0, floor filled with corpses and skellies, general chat with alts (from opositive faction whining) etc. Galleon's spawn point is another fine example of big and great battles betwen factions.
So.. the real question is.. wich server its active on world pvp

In regards to the RP...yes, there is a lot of garbage out there however, there is some really great RP going on, intriguing story lines and also some pretty amazing RPers. I see it every day on my server and in fact, my RP partner is one of the best I have seen. If you are not an RPer...and a lot of people are not, please don't judge all RP and RPers by those who give us a bad name. I invite anyone who thinks that RP is stupid, a waste of time, a bunch of cyber-sex fiends to give a it a chance...look for a really good RPer/couple or group and try it..you never know what might happen.

Aww, you're just mad that we don't like it when you post unsubstantiated facts and then refuse to back them up ;)

.When CRZ came out on Magtheridon US.... OMFG LOOK OUT LOWBIES ROFLSTOMP/COPTER/PANCAKES/etc... ive got screenshots of the darkportal there... its like the grim reaper shat out all the people's bones he's killed over the course of human history
You guys and Stormreaver server, CRZ with us on Bleeding Hollow..so I know that image :P
It got to the point where I would fly to Swamp of Sorrows and fly over rather the chance the portal in Stormwind.
It really was the gauntlet run of the dead. :).
I know players on a PvE server may look at it as "oh yeah sure, bunch of max levels ganking lowbies...real fun" They just don't get it. We choose this.
Talk about RP...what better then punishing players for choosing a particular faction.
The chatter on the Outland side of the portal was pretty funny too. Lowbies considering a badge of honor to have made through.
Those same lowbies now engaging in Wpvp among themselves.
You could sense the exhilaration and angst. You never know what's going to happen next. You never know what your enemy is going to do next. Baptism by fire.
Isn't this what the game is suppose to elicit! So kind of emotional response!
Yeah sometimes you get pissed..so what. Getting even makes it all feel better :)
Sorry..I'm sure PvE severs have their upside and it's not like I don't engage in it...but for me..I would feel like a mindless drone if all my time was spent just going from point A to point B or trying to collect 10 dropping from constipated warthogs, without any real sense of danger.
I would be ganked by boredom.
@OP...Wpvp is pretty vibrant on Bleeding Hollow.
The Sha of Anger alone is loads of fun.
I'm not sure what's better... trying to screw up the hordes attempt or fending off their attempt to screw us. :P

World PvP, apart from certain, more or less coordinated happenings like Tarren/Southshore, was always less about "Horde vs. Alliance" than "overgeared/highlevel players roflstomping anyone who happens to be attackable".
The first and only good part of that, the large-scale battles, got implemented as Battlegrounds.

I really should, but I'm a sucker for trolls.
