I have just started playing hunter but i dont know where i can find my pets.
Pls tell where i can find them and what pet is the most powerful
(Note) I am MM Hunter dwarf
pets are pretty much every beast in-game (if you want to be 100% sure its tameable use
on them too see if they're tameable).
Complete list of all pet families
, everything else you need too know about each pet type is findable through thsi link. dont forget wowhead is a database and many users posted many helpfull tips on each page.
I dont get it. Every expac since TBC Blizzard made it so its much easier to get to know all this stuff from the game, without needing to search the net. They made quests for newbs instructing them about their basic abilities, they simplified the choices, made them less often, everything is written down on character screen, tooltips are more or less accurate yet people still come and ask about that...
Why dont you read the information you are given in game instead of just skimming through it.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##Please don't discourage people from coming to the Wowhead forums to get help with something they're not understanding. You don't have to answer a query if you don't want to but if you don't want to then it would be better to simply not post.
Another good place to look for pets is Petopia - I use it all the time when I'm wanting to know which pets are newly tameable and is my oh-so-wanted-but-sadly-not-tamable-hydra is tamable yet :P
@Anticide- They've homogenized the pets quite a bit this expac. There are a set of basic abilities they have based on whether you spec them tenacity, ferocity or cunning. The stats should be the same based on the spec, too. Each pet family has a special ability specific to that pet type, and different ones are going to be the best option in different scenarios.
When soloing, Turtles are a great choice because their special ability makes them more durable as tanks.
When in an instance or raid group, a lot of times the best pet to use is determined by what buff is missing (as many pets special family abilities replace raid buffs from other classes). My first choice is generally a Wolf for the crit bonus, but if I run with a mage, I'll trade it out for maybe a Serpent for the attack speed buff. If we have no mage or shaman, I might go BM and bring a corehound so that we have Hero.
When PvPing, different pets have different useful utilities. Spirit beasts have a heal, which was nice on my double-DPS arena team. When I'm in a BG, I like a spider because of their CC.
I'd suggest keeping a wide variety of pets, from different families, so that you have one for whatever situation comes up. For flavor, you should look at the Hunter Pet listing in the database- they have a page for each family of pets that shows all the different colors and designs, so you can pick your favorite design and go tame that pet.
