JCing patterns are done a little differently this expansion. Instead of doing a quest to get "tokens" to use to purchase patterns the cuts are now learned through research once a day for "gem type x3" or multiple times a day for Spirits of Harmony. There are a few non-gem cut patterns scattered around on faction vendors or the patterns that are random Pandaria drops for meta gems, but other than that the trainer teaches the rest. Good luck.

There are also the Companion/Battle pets available from the Bag for doing the last daily quest for each faction each day, and the recepies for the mounts purchased from the Cloud Serpent Quartermaster for gold at increasing levels of rep. As mentioned abouve, for cutting the blue quality gems, they will need to be researched with either 3 of that colour gem (this method can only be used once a day) or with 3 spirits of harmony to discover a cut for a random colour of blue quality gem.

The MoP JC trainer is:
Mai the Jade Shaper
in Jade Forest. She teaches your Serpent Eye patterns as well as a few others. They won't be found on Old World trainers.

The easiest way to get the rare (blue quality) gems for the research is to transmute them. If you don't have one of your own make friends with one.
One common (green quality) gem + 1 golden lotus = 1 (blue quality) gem of the same color. Golden Lotuses can be obtained at the rate of three Lotuses for one Spirit of Harmony at a Vendor in the Vale of Eternal Bossoms. Spirits of Harmony can be farmed once you hit Revered with the Tillers and also drop now and then from random mobs.

I dont bother with the research anymore because the perfect cuts of the green quality gems have the same stats as teh blue quality gems .
I get more than enough perfect cuts to supply myself and my raid team with gems so I dont waiste blue quality ones on research anymore
