5.1 PTR and addons
Return to board index
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get my wowhead looter on the ptr.
The most recent info I have found is a
about recount that says to go to this file path:
C:\Users\\Saved Games\World of Warcraft Public Test\Interface\Addons
This doesn't exist on my computer, there's only Microsoft games>solitaire
I suspect that maybe this is because I haven't actually logged into the ptr yet since I downloaded it today at lunch If that's the case shouldn't there be one for the regular game? I expected there to be an interface folder in the folder with the client like the main game but there's not one of those either.
Try searching in your program files folder, located on your C drive instead
Searched c drive for "World of Warcraft Public Test\Interface" and got no results found. Just gonna have to wait till I can actually log on to PTR to see if anything changes for now.
It won't be directly on the C drive. It'll be located in a folder called Program Files
(Mine is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft Public Test)
I expected there to be an interface folder in the folder with the client like the main game but there's not one of those either.
I'm guessing Luminitia missed this part.
OP, it works precisely like this. The PTR folder is an exact mirror of a normal WoW install, Interface folder and all. You install addons in exactly the same way. The problem is, the WoW client doesn't create the Interface folder upon initial install. It gets created upon first character login.
You can go to the PTR install folder and create the folder named Interface yourself, then a folder named AddOns inside that.
Thanks much, all was well after actually logging on to day was able to copy and past everything I wanted.
