Early mortar strikes into Azshara would probably detonate all their weapons there, which is a catastrophic blast in the making.
Out of curiosity, how would said mortars get there?

Well, Considering we're arguing about sieges, Regular sense is already out the window so.

That's the real advantage the alliance has against the horde siege-wise. Their Mortars are smaller and more portable, while they have siege engines for more traditional siege weaponry.

), was a mage, and she still died like anyone else.
Rhonin was made one of the most OP mages ever to have lived by Knaak who made him not just a powerful mage, but also a seasoned warrior just as good with a sword as he was with a spell. In every sense of the way, he was a battlemage, and he still died like everyone else.
What exactly makes you think Jaina is any different? shes' not a goddess, she's a human, she can bleed, thus she can be gutted like a fish as anyone else.

He almost destroyed all of northrend. Kaput. An entire continent. Does that means he's unstoppable?
I'd say he's not.
Besides, you seem to forget something very important. She didn't do that with her own power, she did that by using a stolen magical artifact,
this one to be more accurate.
To enhance her powers and allow her to summon the tidal wave. Just as Illidan also needed the Eye of Sargeras when he almost destroyed all of northrend.
If she attempts to use the Focusing Iris again, to wipe out an entire city BTW, don't think the blue dragonflight is gonna take that lightly. Dragons are the last thing she needs as enemies.

Not to mention that she needed the Focusing Iris to do it in the first place. The main reason Kalecgos entrusted the iris to remain in the vaults of Dalaran, was so that it would not be used as a weapon of mass destruction by ANYONE. If jaina breaks off her promise to never use it again, shes' gonna have a lot of pissed off blue dragons on her already long list of enemies.
So, not an option. And without the iris, she's just another mage like everyone else. They bleed, they die.

Admittedly, I haven't done anything 5.1 or 5.2 related, so I might not be fully understanding this...
But why couldn't you flood SIlvermoon of all cities? It's walls aren't exactly high, and it's on the tip of a peninsula...
HOWEVER, for the arguement at hand. I could just as easily reply with the following.

Admittedly, I haven't done anything 5.1 or 5.2 related, so I might not be fully understanding this...

If you look at the Spire of the Sun, its surrounded by a bottomless pit on it. Silvermoon has several of those, it'd be hard to flood it if it has such a drainage system.

Admittedly poor old saurfang is getting old, but mark my words, any battle where he gets involved is an automatic defeat for anyone unless you have the powers of a demi-god (Read: Lich King)

And silvermoon and Quel'thals is filled with magical defenses that should be back online by now.
like the reactivated and possibly returned runestone(s) and arcane sanctums and the magic gates etc.

There's also another thing: After Dalaran, Silvermoon is the city with the largest amount of magi in azeroth, and as if this wasn't enough, they have the Sunwell to tap into for that extra kick. Really had to try to topple that city with magic.
After all, blood elves invented magic in the first place (They are the descendants of the highborne, who first tapped into the well of eternity) and were the ones who taught humans how to use it.

Saurfang's brother wounded a Titan.
So keep repeating to yourself those words. You'll need them.
Also, Saurfang oneshoted a Necrolord, soloed a quiraji army, and reaved a full scourge batallion on borean thundra.

Aye, which is why I put them on the list for hard to destroy cities; after all, if they hadn't been betrayed from within, they would have been able to hold out against the Scourge. And the Dark Horde only got the drop on them because they weren't expecting the Warlocks, the Ogre-Magi and the Amani Trolls all working together to take out the scouts and disable the runestones.

Jaina has untold powers still to be unlocked, she would mop the floor with saurfang, dress him in a skirt and make him serve her ice tea.
