PvP gems in MoP

Hello PvPers,

I missed the last few months of PvP in Cata, so these PvP gems are new to me. That being said, I have two questions:

1) Where are the gems in MoP? Are they currently obtainable for this season? I was under the impression Conquest/Honor vendors would sell them, but that is not the case (as of now).

2) Are they desirable to main stat gemming (I'm a DK, so STR in my case), or is a mixture of the two optimal. I've done a bit of research, and understand there is no clear cut answer theorycrafting-wise, but I'd still like to hear y'alls opinions

1) So far, PvP gems ( Gems obtained via honor ) has been introduced into the later seasons of each expansion to give something to dump honor.

2) I am getting my informations from other classes but as far as I know, PvP Power will be the main stat for PvP, even for classes who benefits from they main stat ( ex: Agility for Sub Rogues with Sinister Calling ) but yes, so far, there's hasn't been any accurate theorycrafting.

There really is no clear-cut answer so I can tell you my take.

For red sockets always gem for your primary stat.

Yellow sockets have two solid choices:

1) Gem for your second best stat - mastery is a lot better now than it was before for most classes.

2) Choose vivid green gems which offer PvP resil / PvP Power

Blue sockets should always be the stormy gems (pvp power).

When you are buying gems there are two grades, the "uncommon" quality gems which have lower stats and the "rare" quality which have slightly better stats. I recommend checking for "perfect" versions of the uncommon gems first because they are "rare" quality with the same stats as the rare version, but lower priced.

For example:

Pandarian Garnet = Uncommon/Green (cheap)
Perfect Pandarian Garnet = Rare/Blue (more expensive)
Primordial Ruby = Rare/Blue (most expensive but has same stats as 'perfect' version)
