Safeguard the tank as dps, bad idea?
Return to board index
Im only level 88 atm (been hacked and unable to play for almost a week so a bit behind everyone else)
But in dungeons (and pvp, but lets ignore pvp for now) i use this ability as a dmg reducing cd on the tank. The not so good part is that several bosses have splash damage, (which aint so bad, but im rarely at 100% health the whole time) and i end up being hit really hard myself, even crit.
Im wondering if this safeguard the tank obsession i have developed is really that smart, or is it just annoying for the healer? Tanks seems to like it as they get reduced dmg, and it can situationally be a life saver, but i wonder if i should use it on cd or not?
later when im in raids that habit might even get me killed. What to do?

i dont think id be safeguarding a tank in any raids. id loath to take a melee boss hit. id go mass reflect for trash and prolly just keep that and not use it cuz boss spells as far as i know cant be reflected. maybe theres some encounters with specific mechanics i might get vigi for to save a healer or something but i dont know yet.
Safeguarding = For uses on tanks for non melee hits, or for damage to anyone else, Otherwise Vigilance.
Mass Spell Reflect is pretty useless...I can only think of using it for Protectors...And even then it's meh.
As o now I've bees using mass spell reflection. Im usually doing raids and taking a boss hit is a huge no no. I have however on more than one occasion had a pull that was too large and a tank goes down. In that case I'll taunt the mob hit mass spell reflect and die by the sword and pretty much be immune to everything for the few seconds it takes to get the tank back up. Im a fury warrior btw. Both safeguard and vigilance havent worked out for me but mass spell reflection can help your healers and get you out of some tough spots..
