Not to hijack the topic, since it's related to the replies, but I'm curious. What is the consensus here on the wowhead boards about EJ vs Noxxic vs Icy-Veins? I'm on the GameFAQs boards and most there tend to prefer Icy-veins, but I'm just curious about this overall community.
I myself like to hit all 3 and watch some Preach videos on Youtube. I think the guy's funny, but I could see how his humor/enthusiasm wouldn't be for everyone. From the 4, knowing my own playstyle and limitations I personalize the advice and go from there. Some people seem to just pick one site and use their advice to the "T" and I'm just curious how it is here on wowhead.
Thanks for any replies. :)

IMO, Icy Veins is best for general purpose. They basically take what is posted on EJ (simcraft info anyway) and break it down for the general public in a clean concise manner.
EJ is still best for technical, in depth information and theorycrafting. Do NOT go there with mundane questions ("What Griomoire is best for X spec", "What is rotation for X Spec?" etc).
My opinion anyway.

Also keep in mind that these sites give you a pretty basic priority. While it is good for beginners, do not live and die by it.
There are little things that you can do to help boost damage. I find my self many times popping meta to just refresh doom, then going back. While that is not a major revelation in the spec, just note that there a little things like that to help you boost dmg.

I agree. There are little things and more so now than before, that are situational that these guides, sims, and other information collecting places just can't cover everything you should do in every situation. Pull from these guides but don't take them for law. Sometimes felflame is the right spell to cast.

I still question that stat priority for demo. Everywhere I read says Crit>Mastery>Haste. I'm reforged for Mastery as my top stat, and I do better that way. Even my sims say Crit, but it just don't work. Maybe it has to do with being an Orc and my Pet dmg bonus scales with mastery.
I think there's much more work to be done with this spec. before it's nailed down.

^ In regards to the stat weights, I've been doing Mastery > Haste > Crit because I actually tank a lot of heroics, so it works for damage reduction in Dark Apotheosis and then for damage increase when I dps in raids and stuff. My dps is probably not optimal, but I can do 40-50k easy single target.

Most of my procs happen when I start hitting shadowbolt. So referring to Irishs opener, I personally to CoE, Corr, SB until procs, then Meta+Doom, HoG, and so on.
I basically get all procs up like windsong, lightweave, my darkmoon card, and my other trinkets crit, then pop my Doom, Terrorguard, etc.

Opener:
If you used offensive cooldowns (dark soul/trinket etc) stay in Meta form until they expire. If you didn't, spend until 700 or so demonic fury before returning to caster form.
From then on, it becomes a simple case of keeping dots running, while managing your demonic fury between 700-950.
Just wondering. Why keep fury at 700+ instead of consuming the full bar?
Do you do it so that you can pop meta when you get a proc or popping your offence CDs?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. The threshold of 700 is kinda arbitrary, but the main idea is that you want to have the most fury available for when you use
. While you have DS active you ignore the 700 fury minimum threshold and just goto town.
If you find that you build fury faster than normal and you are having to pop in and out often to prevent from capping fury, then try spending more, making your minimum cap lower, say 650 or 600 may be more effective for you. Alternatively if you're having a hard time getting fury near max when DS is available, then try saving more, move your minimum to 750 or 800. 700 is just the number that simmed the best.
The largest factor in this decision will be your haste and fight mechanics/adds/etc.
