Whatever spec you want to be: If you think the idea of hitting everyone with curses is good, go Affliction. If you want a heavy hitting demon, go Demonology. If you want to blow things up, go Destruction.

If you play with with a group, warlocks are essential, they are the only class that can summon people without being at an actual instance summoning stone. It does take 2 other people to make the lock summoning stone but its better than waiting for everyone. Its especially useful for having people join your group mid run. A raid without a warlock spends alot more time waiting.
