Questions on Demo Locks:

Hey all! I have some questions for Demonology Locks, as I am leveling one now, and although I know that things will change in MoP, I figure the more I know now, the more I will know then.
1. I know that Hand of Gul'dan is a single-target ability, but the aura caused boosts the crit chance of the Felguard's Legion Strike (Edit: And Fel Storm). Use on AoE, or no?
2. Berserking. I am a Troll. Quite simply, are there "best times" to use this as a Demo Lock?
3. I have heard about Pet Swapping for Demon Soul, for Single-Target. Use Soul Burn if possible to summon the new Demon, pop Demon Soul, yada yada. So when do I swap back? I.E. I pop to Felguard from the Felhunter, pop Demon Soul... Do I switch back after the 20 seconds are over? ... Or?
Thank you~!

Alot of this advice will change with MoP coming out so beware, you'll want to check back when 5.0.4 hits, but for now.
1. Yes, open with HoG when you AoE with Fel-Storm. If either is on CD, just Shadowflame and Hellfire.
2. Use Berserk whenever you're damaging things. Big fights, line it up with trinkets/meta other CDs.
3. The pet swapping thing is really for raiding fights. Currently the fel-puppy does better sustained single-target dmg than the felguard. However, the felstorm CD is very nice and the DS bonus from the felguard is better than the fel-puppy. So people would, at the start of fights, blow all their CDs, (DS, felstorm, soul-burn) and use their soul-burn to instantly bring in a fel-puppy for the remainder of the fight. (swapping more than once isn't really a dps boost anymore) It's a nice boost to overall dmg if done properly but is alot of work to time correctly. It's not really a concern for 5.0.4 or while you are leveling, just keep the felguard out.

Oh no no no! Definately use Berserking
before
you first apply Dots! The added haste (it says casting speed but it still counts! just like lust/heroism) will increase the number of dot ticks! The haste benefits the dots and nukes so you shouldn't wait to use it. In general it's almost never a good idea to delay using a CD.

No worries, it took me a while to actually verify that because it's definately not intuitive.
