10 years ago (yesterday, Jul 9th....I can't believe I actually lost track of the date) I placed the biggest hardship in my life in the hands of the Lord, and he has continued to keep that with Him still.
On July 9, 2002, I began my new life...drug free.
Moreso than just wanting to toot my own horn here, I would just like to let anyone else that my be struggling with addiction that there is hope, and it can be overcome. I fully believe that God picked me up when I couldn't do it for myself, but regardless of your belief, there is a way. Either through strong will, with help from family or friends, or even someone you will never meet from a forum, you
If anyone here has a problem, or knows someone that does,
never lose hope
. And if anyone needs someone to talk to about it, or to pray for them or with them, I would be honored to help.

Hope is a powerful thing. Kudos to you for remaining drug-free for 10 years, very inspiring!
Happy 10th Anniversary!
On a more serious note though, congratualtions on what I have no doubt has been a lot of hard work, and wanting to make your life better.
It's always great to see/hear stories about people changing their lives in a positive way. It probably has a very positive effect on those around you as well.
Keep up the good work.
Very uplifting, Magician. Struggling with addiction is hard. I've never had to deal with it (although, my boyfriend does say I need help with my WoW addiction, but I just wave him off xD), but I've had friends and family go through it, some ending terribly but most ending well. I'm glad your story has a happy ending!
Congratulations Magician! :)
Congratulations. I'm proud of you, Magician.
Eh, I typed a long message here about my past, but let's not dwell on that - I backspaced it.
I, too am proud of you Magician. More so than the words actually portray.
Me too in the "can't find the words" camp, but congratulations dude.
On the other hand, you sound to me like a guy who could make it 20.
10 years = 3,650 days
Days since thread = 4
3,650 + 4 = 3,654
3,654 days no drugs,nice.
Congrats on making 10 years
For those of you that don't know...spreading hope and encouragement that your not alone in your addiction is the basis of AA. I hope to one day claim the same in my own addictions...
Congratulations on 10-years. This was a very nice post and I thank you for sharing your experience as I'm sure it may touch a few people around here who may be struggling themselves in someway.
Keep up the amazing work!
That is no small feat you have accomplished. You should be proud of youself. Hopefully, this inspires someone else to do the same. Congratulations on reaching 10 years :)
