I'm having some issues with my toon and his dps. I have ok burst but after fights in dungeons are over with I bearly at 18-20k.
Not sure if its me or if it has to do with my gear or if its just me.
I do Totem> FS>Lava>Lightbolt (filler)>ES and repeat.

always pop elemental mastery at the start of boss fights and then whenever its off cd
if you get 9 stacks of lightning shield and flame shock has less than 6 seconds left, then refresh flame shock before you use your earth shock. otherwise you miss out on lava surge procs.
your totems and DoTs are all buffed by spellpower effects, if you use a volcanic potion then drop searing totem, it will be 'supercharged' for the duration of the spell. so try and time your totems when you have a SP proc up. same goes for haste with flame shock, and faster flame shock ticks = more lava surges
try and get as much uptime out of fire elemental totem as possible on boss fights.
whenever theres 2 or more mobs standing next to each other SPAM CHAIN LIGHTNING =D
seriously go nuts with it, but remember to keep using earth shock with 9 stacks of lightning shield
you can maximize your dps by hitting every single lava burst as lava surge procs, i usually spam lava burst and only hit my lightning bolt button as the cast bar hits the red part (i use quartz for my castbar, thats highly reccomended) to queue up the next one. that way if lava surge procs suddenly, i hit it quicker
stopcast macro's for lava burst make you lose more dps than you gain, i think someone proved it with numbers on these forums a while ago.
in the end though, more gear will always increase your dps =P so keep raiding.

would bring you more DPS. If you can position yourself before the fight starts, you won't need it.
Also, doing 18-20k with your gear in a heroic dungeon should be fine enough. Once you replace those blues, get more 397 gear overall and do raids, your DPS will go up.
And make sure to stay on top of your spells. You can get an addon to help you if you wish.

Actually, I only halfway agree with Nathanyal. Glyph of Unleashed Lightning is actually very helpful in Raids, where frequently the fights require you to move around quite a lot. In heroics though, glyph of lightning bolt is definitely more helpful. Other than that I agree entirely with what he and Flurrius said

Also, be sure to get valor gear to hold you over until you complete that raid set. It is quite powerful in reality and should help you get some of those blues replaced with epics.

Its useful in raids, only if you don't know how to set yourself up so you don't need it. Such as when to use Spiritwalker's Grace and standing in the spot where you don't have to move that much.
There are also few fights in DS that it comes in handy. And even then, it isn't really needed.

i actually use unleashed lightning for nearly every fight in H DS except ultrax and spine. the extra casting uptime provides heaps of dps, especially on high movement fights like warmaster or hagara.
my standard glyph setup is lightning bolt/flame shock/unleashed lightning. and i swap out UL for LvB on low-movement fights.
also for major glyphs i use elemental mastery and stoneclaw (for PvE? madness!) but free survivability is worth it, as the old saying goes; dead dps do no damage. although this is just a playstyle choice.
also for your gear level, ~20k dps is pretty much exactly what you should be pulling so dont stress =P

Ok, so first 4 bosses of LFR DS best dps was 20k on Second boss 1 and 4th bosses were 15k and 3rd boss was 13k.
To me its still low but I think it might get a little better when I can win the rolls and get some teir 13 gear. If it doesn't happen then I'll swap to Ehn. I'm already getting gear for the spec as we speak.
