if you baught the battle chest you only have Vanilla+BC but you will need to get Wrath and Cataclysm to upgrade. but if you have all Xpacs try uninstalling and reinstalling.

in order too play you indeed also require WotLK.
basic WoW (includes BC) + WotLK + Cata is needed too play cataclysm. once MoP hits i assume that WotLK will become part of the basic WoW package. but people still will need too have Cata before they can start with MoP.
anyway short story: get WotLK also.
