It's time for another serving of my ranting pies! Aren't you all so happy?
So one or two of you sent me a Scroll of Resurrection, and no one is more grateful for that than I, and seeing as it's my Secondary Account, I decide to roll a few toons on it to have some fun. Among them, being a Blood Elf Hunter, simply for the sake it was the race-class combo I remembered playing before Role Play purposes had me rerolling my hunter into a paladin. That's what I do when I'm on a Role-Playing server, I don't complain.
Anyway, well into a bit of questing, I get this sudden Whisper from a random player asking me to join his guild, and a guild invite. Well, I don't know anything about this guild, as his Whisper had no information pertaining to the guild's activities, purpose, or Role-Playing potential, so I decline. Needless to say, I get a guild invite not a day later, in the same fashion but from a different guild. But instead of hearing this Whisperer in the Patrick Star voice, I now hear Dirti G from Illegal Danish that obnoxious, screeching, slit-my-wrists-and-bleed-to-death-to-escape-this-torture-oh-my-god-why-are-you-still-talking voice Clint Hackleman does so damn well! But not a full five minutes pass and suddenly the same damn guild invite and whisper from a different guild member just sneaks up on me! And then I'm getting about five MILLION different guild invites from people, all of which I hear as Dirti! What the hell is going on! Am I the only one this has happened to?

WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE? How the hell am I supposed join your guild if you don't give me any information on what it does? You expect me to join it blindly to appease your royal $%^& because, "I HAVE A GUILD, HURRHURR, JOIN IT, IT'S AWESOME" because that reasoning makes about as much sense as joining a celibate order to get chicks! You are not convincing me to join your guild, you're pissing me off! For all I know, your guild worships some porn-star while losing Alterac Valley battlegrounds on purpose and enjoy going to murloc strip-clubs! I don't want to join your guild! I hate PVP!
Listen, if you're going to invite someone to your guild, don't flash an invite in some player's face and expect them to join willy-nilly. It's only making you look like an idiot and hurting your chances of being a good guild. Floivan is right when he says start with some small-talk. THEN work your way to inviting the player. But none of this instantaneous guild invite crap, because it only ruins the player's experience with you.

I understand you're doing this for comic effect but remember that the good folks of Wowhead aren't the ones with whom you're upset. So just watch where those tables go flying when you flip them. You don't want to hit one of our lovely Rocketeers.

If you are unguilded, you'll get the invites, simple as that.

There is also an addon that will spam invites to those not in a guild. That seems to be the case here.

Wow you only get one invite a day? On my alts I get like 5+ an hour. There are options to block invite spam though.

You can block all incoming invites. Go to the Interface menu, and the on the Control menu screen, you should see the option to block. You will still get the tells, but you won't get anything popping up on your screen.

I started a toon on a colleagues server, thankfully I had him as a real ID friend, and after about the first hour I whispered him to find out if there was any one he was real ID friends with in his guild to invite me to stop the guild spam. If I was not planning on joining his guild, I would have turned off guild invites. I do hate it when I get that spam on unguilded toons.

My favorite part is when you reply with a "No, thankyou" and they hit you back with a "wtf? woo r u" or some choice expletives on how to enjoy being a guildless son of a female dog.
