Say I collected a lot of tokens and never turned them into a vendor for patterns. Now say I go and drop JC for another profession. Do I lose all those tokens or will I still have them in my Currency tab?

I'm not sure why you'd want to keep the JC tokens, to be honest. If you drop a profession, generally it's not one you're looking to relearn at a later point. So even if they don't disappear when you drop JC as a profession, you'd only be able to reuse them if you dropped the new profession to relearn JC. It seems like a much more favorable option to level an alt with heirlooms and use them for the desired profession, or drop the other primary profession the character has learned.

anyway as far im aware, even if you drop JC your toon will keep all unspent JC tokens.

Sorry for the late reply, I am droping JC due to the profession bonuses. I am a person who tends to max out their character just to do so. I plan to pick up BS and will drop it once JC will likely become better in MoP.

why would you drop jc with its time requirements? i know with other proffs you can purchase recipes/schematics..but with jc..you can only do dailies to get jc cuts and it takes 5 days to get one epic. jc is a time sink and to me this represents the most value ..time costs money and once dropped, you can't get those tokens/time you spent grinding back.True, but all the Cataclysm gems will become quite obsolete when MoP comes out. I expect that the tokens will become obsolete too. Being able to say, "I've got them", will be the only reason to have the Cataclysm designs.
Edit: The Wrath gems and designs are still good for twinking, but they don't have gear requirements, whereas the Cataclysm gems do.
