i honestly like th idea for "return of the burning legion." a few things i (personally) would change would be
1) Anduin "In" battle. i believe he would be there but not necissarily in the front lines as he is a priest. muradin wouldnt have trained him either a whole lot as muradin is a warrior. Even if he wern't i think muradin might still have alot of reservations about training a human after one of his pupils (Arthas) Destroyed all of lorderon and almost azeroth.
2) i dont think it wise to bring illidan back. After Arthas tricked him into stealing the Skull of Gul'Dan turning him demonic when its energies fused with him, he showed up in Icecrown to destroy Ner'zhul on behalf of the Burning Legion. his ties with them are too close and he coudnt be trusted.
3) Jaina and thrall . i dont think that she would be his "right hand." Aggra woudnt let them get that close imho. but i do think them working together would be cool.
4) Nordrasill as the main target. it might be possible but i think that after Archimondes defeat there, they would try and find a different target. the Kaldorei already sacrificed their immortality to defeat him so i think it may be a moot point.
i do like the idea of the burning legion closing the dark portal. since Medivhs book is pretty much the only thing that could re-open it, and since Kel'thazud had it last, i could possibly see another venture into Naxx to try and find it. maybe not a raid, but a dungeon possibly, or better yet, a questline.
i also like the idea of the teaming of alliance and horde to vanquish the legion. maybe even a few dungeons where the 2 factions could do together.
all in all i love the ideas you presented. i only hope that Blizz would read this and take a hint from their subscribers for a change.

My guess is that the last raid will be 'The Burning Citadel'.
Also, I think that the Old Gods are going to come out one at a time and not altogether like that.

I would rather see a combination of two main enemies baked into one expansion. The scourge under the new lich king Bolvar and the legion acting up at the same time but independent from eachother. toss in some qiraji as well as a reformed twilight hammer and we get four enemies at once.

Although I do not doubt we will deal with the Burning Legion again , and outland; most of those ideas just seem very bad fan fictionish. Oh and the Blood Elves have the sunwell already.

I could be terribly wrong, but while I do think there will most certainly be a burning legion expansion I don't think it will be the next one. I feel like it would likely be the last box expansion of WoW, and I think the next one will likely be the old gods expansion maybe even the long touted Emerald Dream expansion. Unless the popularity of WoW goes into a complete free-fall they might even try to squeak in two more before the Burning Legion comes back in full force. Once and for all defeating the leaders of the Burning Legion is pretty much the end they are the ultimate baddies in the Warcraft Universe, and once they go down there's not really anywhere to go. If you think about it Illidan and the Lich King pretty much got their own expansions and they were honestly little more than puppets and playthings of the Legion. Not to be pessimistic, but with Activision at the helm it wouldn't completely surprise me if the Burning Legion wasn't even an expansion but the very first of Blizzard Activision's new game World of Warcraft II, now with 50% more bear asses to collect.

Outland will have an actual revamp eventually.
As for this: We probably won't see the Burning Legion again till the finale expansion, since after Pandaria, I'm still seeing a Great Sea based one that has Queen Azshara and N'Zoth as the big bads.

The
Nether
is a realm between the physical and spiritual world; Demons can exist within it, but according to what has been said, mortals don't stand a chance unless there is something wrong with their minds before they go in. So; if there is a return of the Legion, it's probably going to be about heading to Xoroth and Argus(if it still exists) and fighting the Legion commanders there: KJ on Argus and the current leader of the Dreadlords on Xoroth. They may even add in other worlds: The Sayaad(Succubus), the Antilaan(Pitlords) still have homeworlds as well out there.
