I did a LFR earlier today, and all I used was:
PoM on cd, CoH on cd, HW: Sanc on cd, PoH, Renew for spot healing. On Yorshaj, I used FH/GH on the tank when his stacks got really high, but that's it. Serendipity saw use, maybe, 10-12 times through the whole instance (mostly on Yorshaj, because the other tank switched to dps and the single tank's stacks would get pretty high).
Am I doing things wrong? Or is this how Holy works in World of Stack-and-AoE-Heal?
And does Holy hover near the lower end of the mana bar a lot more than Disc?

My sig has loads of info about holy. I wish you'd have given us an armory link so I could see if there was anything in particular that you might be struggling with in gearing/spec. We can't be anything more than generic without any more information.

Hey Patty, thanks for replying.
I have gone through your guide (of course!). And I am not really struggling with anything, I was just wondering if I'm doing things right. That's all. My gear is fine (really :D).
I'm reforging for haste and only really go holy for spine and madness (madness because my PS doesn't come off cooldown fast enough for the terrors and the tank gets pwned).
Here I am:

There is no difference between my holy and disc set. I have gobs of spirit in both and am reforging for haste.
@scarry, yeah, but that goes without saying :)

Your Mastery seems a little low. You generally want to reforge from your weakest stat to haste, which would be crit for holy. There are a few pieces that you could reforge out of spirit instead of mastery, if your mana isnt an issue.
That said, if you use disc, unfortunately, it doesn't use the same reforging as holy does. Crit, haste and mastery have similar weights, because cit and mastery create a lot of synergy and those two things are what makes disc. Haste might take a slight priority over the first two for a little, but not at your gear level.
Anyway, 400 mastery seems really low. You could even back your haste down a bit too.

But I really want to spam the daylights out of PoH. Anything longer than 2sec is just way too much.
Edit: this is as disc btw. The amount of healing that PoH does for me, I just want to be able to cast it as fast as I can.
Also, I don't remember where I read this, but it was a very interesting discussion (probably over on EJ), which showed that the effective value of mastery v. haste is not so straightforward and that reforging haste is not wrong by any means.

Haste is generally thought of as the best throughput healing secondary stat. Disc, as well as resto shamans, are interesting in that they are not all straight forward. Hate will generally be taken to some threshold, then from there, it's either preference or fight oriented.
I was simply saying, if mana is good, you might reforge out of some spirit in to something else, like crit or mastery. They all have great synergy with each other.
I must ask though, why did you choose disc if you have to spam PoH? Holy tends to be a little easier on stats, going haste/mastery, mostly, and your AoEs will be much stronger.

@Sgtpain, I don't *want* to spam PoH, but in the DS environment, that's what gets me most bang for the buck. For me, disc plays like this:
1. PW:S for rapture (or in cases like Morchok crystals, to actually take the hit, or in case of blue slime on Yorshaj, because I am going to get my mana back anyway).
2. PoM on cooldown.
3. PoH whenever a bunch of people take damage (oh so often).
4. Penance to spot heal/stack grace.
5. FH/GH to spot heal.

I gotcha.
Speaking of PoM, my priest is still relatively new, and it annoys me when PoM jumps to pets. Is this a bug?

You could probably follow the baseline of 12.5% haste and then stacking mastery. Just get enough haste to get an extra tick of Renew and you Echo of Light will heal for more. Although, if you are keeping the raid alive... you are doing the right thing!

Losing 6% haste sounds like so much! I don't wanna! :(

Balance is always a good thing. keep an equal amount of haste and mastery and you will be just fine in most situations. Remember your Serendipity stacks (as holy) really do pump up your cast times. so SoL is nice to have.
peace out.
