at the click of a button they become a full dpser, without even changing gear or spec.
You couldn't really do that in the middle of a fight, and be the best dpser you could be, because you would be in demo spec without meta as a dps cooldown. They were comparing it to an arms/fury warrior with a shield, but they can change weapons mid fight. I think that the warlock tank is even more niche than that.
Since in a raid you want to plan for the most dps possible (and not plan on the tank dying), no raider will have this for some progression fight. The best you could hope for is to use it for a heroic dungeon for lulz and hope the dps loss from the lack of meta isn't too hard. Or on some farm boss when you are just messing around.
You could do that and have Meta.
Dark Apotheosis and Meta are 2 different forms that you can activate seperately
