I use model viewer constantly (love the new one, by the way), and about 1/2 the time that I hit the "X Close" at the bottom of the popup, a large white box remains behind on that tab in my browser. Refreshing the page does not get rid of it; I generally have to close the tab and start over to be rid of this thing.
Edit: running 11.2.202 flash player.

All of my characters are missing their hair.
They are female belfs.
I am running google chrome and I have updated my flash player.
Is there anything that could be causing this on my end?
I am getting the same thing with my human paladin.
The only part of the hair that shows is the bit that would not be covered by the helmet if it was displayed.

I cannot get helms to load on pandaren models. Is this just NYI or is this something with a simple fix that I'm just oblivious to?
NYI, they will be when MoP is live.

The 3D model of
Teron Gorefiend
(the actual Black Temple boss version of him) is not actually showing Teron, but an Orc wearing dark clothing.
This
page of Teron Gorefiend from a quest in SMV does have the correct 3D model of him.

I'm finding that Flash doesn't seem to always release memory again after using the new model viewer and as far as I can tell it's mainly (perhaps only) when I view collections of gear in the item comparison tool (if I use the "View in 3D" button on a transmog set page it seems to return to normal after I close the model viewer). After a few times of this, and an enormous memory load that won't go away, the model viewer ceases to renders sets at all in any page until I quit the browser and restart. Basically what other people have described about the model viewer appearing blank.
I'm using the latest Firefox nightly build and the latest release version of Flash (11.2.202.233). This was tested in Mac OS X 10.6.8. I haven't tested it out in Windows 7 yet. I do know that I see the same symptoms described above when I view these in Windows, I just haven't had a chance to test what triggers it. I suspect it'll be the same cause though.

Macs running osx 10.5 or older cannot run the new model viewer because flash 11 is incompatible with osx 10.5 or older. being able to view models was nice while it lasted.

I can view pre-made item sets, and individual pieces with the 3-D viewer. I thought I'd seen customized ones though, and I can't figure out how to display more than one item on a model at a time unless it's a pre-defined set. The help file references using the "group's action bar," but there's only an action bar on each element of the comparison.

Put a bunch of items in the comparison tool.
Drag them onto each other to create a set of gear.
Once they're grouped you can click the small down-arrow in the header above the new set and choose the option.

How do I change my viewer setting from Flash to Java?
Post by
alayton
You don't. The Java viewer is gone in favor of the new Flash viewer, which works much more reliably.

it looks like the 3D viewer can't load the textures for the items, noticed similar issues with a workplace filter which blocked URLs that contained, say, "chest".
Is it always the same slots that don't work, and when you try to view the same comparison again, does it not display the same items?
If it is persistent in what items or slots do not work, it might be a filter by your firewall, router or ISP.
If it is not, you may have connection problems loading these textures, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The mods/admins may be able to tell you which domain to
tracert
, to identify where between your computer and the Wowhead servers the problem is.

.I cannot change between java and flash anymore either.
Because they took the option out. It is just that one now, which was mentioned up there: How do I change my viewer setting from Flash to Java?
You don't. The Java viewer is gone in favor of the new Flash viewer, which works much more reliably.

I have the latest flash playerThat version apparently has several problems, so it may not be Wowhead's fault.
