I did, actually. I wanted Pandaren to become a playable race, and some form of Monk a class.
However, I think Mists of Pandaria is stupid, not because of the Pandaren, but because they developed the entire thing around Pandaren or Pandaria. Imagine if they named Cataclysm "Sands of Uldum." I really enjoyed Cataclysm not just because of it's 80-85 and endgame content, but because it offered so much new to the entire world. This seems to be... "Oh, Pandaria. And something about Theramore getting destroyed?" In Cataclysm we got to see an advancement in all of the places we'd played in so often before, the fruits of our efforts. In MoP, there was a "MYSTEEEERIOUS MIST COVERED ISLAND THAT NOBODY HAD EVER SEEN BEFORE. IT WAS REALLY REEEEEEEALLY MISTY." I mean, the most foreshadowing we had to it was in the short-story on Thrall, which was released after the actual expansion was announced. In one dungeon you're going to help Chen clear re-skinned Kobolds out of his bar, but hey, it's Chen right, aren't you guys excited? Something about a negative force spreading throughout the world. Can I thunk the negative force in the face with my hammer? I don't understand why they even needed to include this stuff with "The Shah." Surprise us or something. It's either going to be crap or it's going to be an Old God.

I'm with Orrianis on this one.
The pandaren ARE among my favorite races in the game, and I was eager to see them being added at some point in the future, but I'm still a wee bit skeptical about them and their land being the main focus of the expansion, specially when there's still so much we gotta do like kill ashara and sargeras, and visit so many settings like the emerald dream, the twisting nether/argus, and zin-azhsari.
To have this sort of "Interlude" set on an exotic land, its quite unexpected, and yes I am skeptical.
Unlike the MoP haters though, I do not think this will ruin the game, I just hope they handle this expansion better than cata, because the writing left much to be desired at many places.

I will give MoP a shot, if it's utterly terrible I'll probably still raid in it, just not focus on the other content

oi, I wasn't referring to you.
I was referring to the legion out there chanting:
"R.I.P wow" "Wow is for 12 year olds now" "This is a joke right?" "This game is dead" "pandas? WTF?" and so on.

Here's a break down of the WoW games thus far:
Vanilla: Alliance vs. Horde. Some previously unknown areas and zones are thrown in alongside established lore and locales. No main "Boss", but rather a series of BEGs (Big Evil Guys) with lead-up storyline through quests to defeat. First was Ony and Rag, then Nefarian, lets not forget the AQ lead-up and raids, and wrap it up with the assault on Naxx.
BC: More new zones in Outlands, tied in with established lore and locales. A basic sequel to WC3/TFT that takes place in the outlands. Illidan being the BEG, but not before we take down Gruul (who?), Mag, SSC...basically all his underlings and a few never-before-known enemies and forces. Then we go to the sunwell island to take back/save the sunwell. Enter the blue space-goats and the Blood Elves, the space-goats being entirely new lore.
Wrath: Lets wrap up WC3 storylines with the assault on Arthas. Northrend opens, Death Knights show up. Aside from Arthas, the scourge, and the Anub'arak, everything else in this zone is new. We get to actually see real Titans and interact with them. We meet the vry'kul, the walrus people, wolvar, and various other new lore and locales. even though arthas is the BEG, we decide to go raid a Titan prison, fight an old god, have a tournament, and deal with Malygos first. Most of which is entirely new lore.
Cata: Deathwing wrecks the joint. The twilight clut gains popularity and power, wow an entire desert appears (out of no-where), gilneas, the worgen, the goblins, twilight highlands, an undersea zone right off the coast, hyjal.... somehow we could fly in northrend, but we managed to train our gryphons/hippogryphs to fly in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. Not exactly alot of new lore, per se, but alot of lore is updated and changed/altered and some of it is brand new.
So, most of the established lore has been explored and alot of old enemies have been defeated. Emerald dream, Argus, Zin-azshari, twisting nether is not exactly old lore in the game, rather than background and story element. Any of those as a full-fledged expansion would take just as much ingenuity and new lore-making as pandaria will. Maybe we will see some of those story elements making their names known better through the MoP lifecycle.
So it really boils down to, youre not against new lore and game elements, just that its not the lore or direction you want it to go in? That sounds a bit selfish and childish to me to jeer some fresh creative storytelling. I, for one, am glad theres no BEG so readily apparent to mock and haunt us.
"Im tougher than deathwing was, who was stronger than arthas, who was stronger than illidan, who was stronger than Onyxia, but ive just been twiddling my thumbs all this time!"
Im looking forward to this expansion, because I will love to see Blizzards artistic style applied to an Eastern fantasy theme. Yes, Im rolling a panda monk first thing.

the space-goats being entirely new lore.
Draenei were shown in Warcraft 3. Granted, there was some additional lore involving Draenei that was in fact new.

This times about 100000.
